What color leather do you have? The brushed aluminum trim is stunning IMHO.

I like the fiber carbon ones too but it's a little too glossy for me (and my wife). I prefer the fiber carbon trims on i8, they look much real. |

I'm in the middle of getting rid of the wood trim for the piano black trim. I was able to get the console pieces out without damage but man, i cannot get the new pieces back in. It's almost like i have to remove the console lid to get it to lay in properly. Anyone have any advice? How easy is it to remove the console lid?

NVM. Found the post on the knee pads with instructions on how to remove that console lid. Yikes! What a PITA. I thought those two plastic pieces would be a piece of cake. Got it done but definitely a lot more effort than I thought. The piano black looks so much better than the shinny plastic wood look.

When this thread first came out, I was all excited about doing a trim swap to put in CF, since I'm not all that excited about the wood trim. Then I saw you have to take the door panels off, and was like NOPE. It can wait lol.

I wondered if there is an easier way to wrap the door panels? A lazy way to do it, stretch the sh!t out of the vinyl and apply heat?

Some before and after pics. I was a little nervous to tackle this project but it really was not that big of a deal. As long as you are careful not to break any of the clips on the door and make sure you keep all the soft gaskets around them, you will have no problem getting the door panels to reseal with no rattles. I think the console piece was harder than the doors.
Sorry for the crappy pics. Car is in the garage and it's fairly dark. Anyone looking for wood trim... I got it. |

Side console trim replacement
The side piece of trim below the center console but just above the carpet was damaged so I purchased the replacement part (51-16-9-285-072).
How easy is it to install? Can't find instructions for this online; have only found how to replace top part of the center console. |

Somewhat related; I’m considering replacing my standard dash with leather from a salvage if I can find a deal. Anyone know if it’s feasible without having to remove the entire instrument panel assembly? Love that leather dash. Mine looks so cheap.
