... not so bad (installed luggage rails on X6/F16)
I had the dealer install a set of BMW OEM luggage rails in an effort to expand the utility of my F16. The dogs go in the back when I go for road trips. Parts cost about $1,000... install about $700. Here are a few photos.

Check some sources re pricing and if necessary complain. Full set at my dealer was $165.

Maybe his car came with satin roof rails and he swapped out for black ones and then bought the cross bars. Would make more sense the way. Would also explain the very costly installation.

Interesting (if not compelling!) The dealers that I called didn't have them in stock so I didn't confirm for what they'd sell, etc. I shopped the internet, on and on. In the end their value to me doesn't change and I'm happy to hav'em!

X6 does not come with roof rails. I am also looking around for rails and cant find anything cheaper.
The setup looks good hopefully you post pics with w.e it is you plan to mount. I need to mount some snowboards.
