If you warm the emblems with a heat gun or hair dryer the adhesive should become soft enough for you to just peal them off. I've used this method for all of my cars.

I'm pretty sure iND will purchase the X4 emblem from BMW directly and paint it for you gloss, chrome black, Matte black for around $100.00. I couldn't find any for my X5 either , so iND was my only solution.
