6wb cluster and service appointment
Hi all
It's time to bring the f15 in for oil change service. I have a 6wb cluster and would prefer not to pull it. The first oil change I told service dept not to update software. At that time, there was a software update available but it wasn't major , according to them. So I now am about to schedule to bring car in and should I, or rather , do I need to pull the cluster? Car build date of 10/15 Any feedback appreciated Thanks |

If you replace it with the cluster and coded it to work in your car. Just let them know as this is an actual upgrade offered by BMW anyways. It will be good to know what they can come up with to deny you of anything as it is under warranty.

I think it is best to pull it due to warranty issues, but I have no idea how difficult or easy it will be to pull it and re install the original cluster. Will there need to be some coding of the original cluster, and coding again for the 6wb?
They might even assume the 6wb came with the car. If it will interfere with a software update, then you will definitely have to install the original.

No need to pull it. I would remind the dealer of the upgrade. If they update the software, they'll need to ensure they re-code your vehicle for the cluster, easy for them to do.
