LED headlight Issue?
I'm pretty sure I read a post at some point where one of you were talking about one half of your LED headlight not being on. Can't for the life of me find it now. Anyways I just notice last night that one half of my drivers side LED headlight is not illuminating at low beam. Is this normal? I have coded Anti-dazzle and allow fogs on when /parking lights. Both of these work as expected.
My thought is that half of the LED is burnt out BUT that's unlikely as LED's have a crazy long lifespan AND when I turn on high beams both side of the bulb light up. Don't want to take it to the dealer and have them blow away all of my coding if that's the problem. Wondering what you guys think. Thx! |

I think it's more likely that the coding you did for anti-dazzle impacted the light vs anything else. Whether you're seeing something caused by the tunneling effect driven by the glare off of the savanna in front of you or it's a defect in the code, I don't know. I've not seen the headlights go on and off like that for a turn of the steering wheel. AFAIK it's only the fogs that do that.

Yes, it's due to Anti-Glare coding. Most likely due to wanting to absolutely ensure no blinding of oncoming traffic under normal driving conditions (driver's side hump is smaller). Even though it may look awkward, it doesn't affect the overall vision IMO.
You can confirm the section still illuminates by putting the car into reverse. Everything lights up...

The vehicle was coded with 100% LED Corona Lights and the issue went away.
There was no other way to resolve it without having one LED out or the beam looking like it was dipped in Tourist Solution mode. The way it sits now is standard beam pattern with the EU/ROW Anti-Dazzle coded. Everything works as designed and has the appropriate beam pattern.

I noticed this morning mine have the same thing with the light, it is the adaptive light function that goes in motion. When I turned the headlight switch from (A) automatic to 1 (ON) all leds turn as they should.

Edit: I looked for the FLE Module...couldn't find it. Guessing they added after 06/15. After some more testing here's what I found Added HBA Active when Headlights on manually LDS in A or 2 no change. If I switch from #3 Auto driving lights to #6 Lowbeam lights the drivers side half light comes back on. Last edited by TallTrees; 11-21-2016 at 01:51 PM.. |

PM-'D guides which include summary page that explains saving and other helpful hints. EDIT: Saving Instructions. There is no attachment button in PM's, so they must be linked using cloud service (eg, Dropbox, Onedrive, etc). Saving FA, SVT, CAFD • FA's & SVT's must be saved to computer, with associated "Save" button if you want backup copy. • NCD's are automatically written to computer when you hit "Read Coding Data." And, they are overwritten if present in C:\data\CAF directory when "Read Coding Data" again or save changes with floppy disk icon in FDL-Editor. Last edited by Almaretto; 11-21-2016 at 03:06 PM.. |

Can anybody with a stock non-USA car with Variable Light Distribution tell us whether their driver's side LED headlight half dark is normal for low beam? Like OP I am in the USA and coded VLD and GFHB and I also have the driver's side LED headlight half dark. Also, from following another family car, it looks like the driver's side LED stays half dark even at highway speeds (65 mph/104 kph). My driver's side LED can be fully lit up if I switch from A automatic headlights to manual headlights. Is the driver's side LED always half dark for VLD under all conditions?
