We just installed these...on the short distance I've driven it they were dead quiet, which is nice...we were getting lots of squealing previously. I'll wash it tomorrow and see how the dust improvement is. As far as Initial bite and pedal feel, I definitely think they are a little softer, but worth it for our usage. My wife noticed the softer feel also, but has been driving it all day and now she says she notices very little difference from before. We have not done any hard stops yet to see how much extra fade or decreased performance is Introduced.

I think it was TasteLid that mentioned it, I was the one who was eagerly awaiting the results.

Was it these from Tastelids rpost?

Sorry yes..the disc Italias from brakeworld. Might make sense to call them to order because they're was a front pad part number discrepancy. I drove the x5m again and still perfectly quiet with a little loss of pedal feel/bite. I just washed it so I'll report back in dusting.

We should replace both front and back correct? Or can we do just the fronts?

Interested in replacing these squeeky brakes too. Brought mine into the dealer - came out even noisier (only from front brakes though).

I did all 4 but for our car the rears squealed the worst for some reason....luckily rears are much less expensive also.

I replaced all pads on our F85. So far no squeaking! Braking has a little less bite but is still fine.

here is what our front wheels look like after a week and a half in some heavy dust and windy driving. overall I'm pretty happy with the brake dust reduction....way better than before, but having gloss black wheels doesn't do us any favors. my guess is if you have gray or silver wheels you would be very happy with the lack of dust.
Btw, that's reflection on the bottom of the wheel...not curb rash

I spoke with Brake World this morning, they just got a shipment of the front pads in and mine should ship soon. As RObby and Tastelid helped me with, the fronts should be HC1738

Maybe the Meguiars Hot Wheels wheel cleaner will work with these pads - could be worth a shot. That worked on my F10 M brakes, I sprayed them whenever i washed it and they did not squeak. Same does not apply for the OEM pads however.

I get my pads tomorrow, but wont have time til after the holidays to get them on.

I heard it again but I would describe it as a short, once per drive squeak, rather than squeaking for 20 feet at EVERY STOP. So that's a huge improvement.

Thanks for the update Tastelid.
Just got mine installed about 30 mins ago. As posted before, definitely less of a bite compared to OEM. But so far no squeal! Thanks

What are they charging? I was told 1 hour per axle is fair.

I would say 1 hour is fair but I was charged 1.4 hours for both axles. My local mechanic is $90 an hour. See if you can get it a bit lower.

Hmm... just drove about 45 miles and I'm starting to hear a low tone screetch now. Sounds like the noise when I haven't driven a car in a while and there's rust on there.

However, I will try to bed the new brake pads later tonight when there is less traffic. Will report back.

I got mine installed under warranty, thankfully. Maybe they felt bad about my having to buy brake pads directly...

Few days ago, I walked along a slopy road and heard a huge squeak noise just before the traffic lights... I turned my head and saw from where comes the noise. The only squeaking car was a Porsche Panamera, so our cars are not the only one that squeak...

All of the vehicles with big brakes squeak. I've heard Porsche, Lambos and Ferraris squeaking when braking. My e92 M3 used to make huge noises when I had the OEM pads. I put Hawks PC ceramics and the noise when from loud to almost nothing. They will still make some type of noise. If you want a quite brake, you need to go with a vehicle with regular rotors and just organics pads. The only reason that I changed the pads on my M3, was because of the dust, not the noise.
