Tirerack was my friend as well. I like them as a set that stays on the car for about 4 month

What set of wheels are those? I have been looking on Tirerack for an all-season / winter set.

Orbit grey is pretty dark. Judging by photos I have seen and wheels I had in the past the Ferric Grey seems to be the closest match to the two greys listed above. Is that correct or are Orbit Grey not as dark in real life?

You're welcome!

I would say these wheels resemble Orbit Grey more than Ferric Grey. They are pretty dark, but not black.

Here are a few more photos of the OEM set on my X5M:

I'm considering these wheels from TR, also. Did you get the Scorpion Ice and Snow 275/40 tires on all 4 wheels? Do you mind uploading a higher resolution and closer image of your setup?

great shots but hard to tell the actual color with the snow all over them. it makes them look much darker than the stock photos of the wheels.

I won't have my Winter set on the X5M until next Monday; I can take some photos at that time, if it's not too late for you to decide.

I apologize ahead of time if this has been already asked, but I didn't see it anywhere. Can you keep the OEM 21's on and run an all square setup of 295/35/21? When I called Tire Rack, they said the rear should be fine, but suggested I call the dealer to see if 295 would work on the front. Called two dealerships but they didn't seem to know either. Thanks in advance.

whoever you spoke with at tirerack is dead. wrong there is no way a 295 is going to work on a 11.5" rear wheel that requires to be in the area of 325. you will have massive amount of stretch to the point where you will probably ruin both rear wheels and tires within days of installing them. in addition the rolling diameter between all four wheels will be way off. the appropriate winter tires for a 21" set up only being produced now and will not be available for purchase until december 30th through january 6th... that is the ETA and not guaranteed. it is one of the lowest production tires pirelli makes and they are in no hurry to get those out the door and lastly most tire distributors take in the next seasons inventory the season before. if warehouses and vendors do not have these now i would not expect them to be available until spring/summer for winter 2017.

Agree. Would think the xDrive computer would freak out with rolling diameter being ~3% different front to back.

Here are a few pics of our x5m with the oz's on tirerack. They still had the 275/315 combo pirelli scorpions in stock when I had ordered. We just had about 6 inches of snow the other day and the car was fine in the snow. Definitely liking this setup for winter.

BMW X5M (F85) Winter Wheel / Tire Package

In anticipation of this important addition to my 2016 BMW X5M, (F85), that I picked up down at the BMW Performance Delivery Center in Greer, SC back June 2016, I decided to also purchase from my BMW Dealer, (Open Road BMW of Morristown, NJ), the following OEM BMW Winter Wheel & Tire Package, where BMW mounts the tires and air pressure sensors on the wheels. I was advised to do this early, (last Spring), since BMW only makes a limited number of these large winter wheels/tires and I wanted to make sure that I was able to get a set.

During the first week of December, I have this BMW Dealership swap out my OEM 21” M Light Alloy Double Spoke wheels (Style 612M) with the Michelin Pilot Super Sport Performance Non Run-Flat Tires; (Front: 21x10.0, 285/35 R21 - Rear: 21x11.5, 325/30 R21) and shrink-wrap them and store them during the winter season. They then install, balance and align all four of my new Winter Wheels/Tires, which are as follows, along with what I paid for them:

AVB-AMG

Wheels: BMW 20” M Light Alloy Double Spoke Wheel Style 611M
Tires: Pirelli Scorpion Snow & Ice (V rated), non-run flat winter tires

Front:
Rim Size: 10” wide x 20
Tire Size: 285/40R20Y
Item No.: 36-11-2-365-424
Cost of Wheels with tires mounted and TPMS installed: $1,852

Rear:
Rim Size: 10.5” wide x 20
Tire Size: 285/40R20Y
Item No.: 36-11-2-365-425
Cost of Wheels with tires mounted and TPMS installed: $1,960

Total cost of wheels with tires mounted and TPMS installed: $3,812
+ NJ 7% Sales Tax: $267
Total Cost $4,079

This is the same set clearing elsewhere for $3200-$3300. Seems BMW lowered the price/produced more sets for '16 after last year's debacle.

Is the price of storage/annual swap included in the price paid?
