Start/stop not working ?

Hi to all,
Since 10 days now, and although the start/stop is not deactivated, it seems my engine is never brought to a "stop" whilst waiting for red lights.
- > The temperature is above 10°C so this is not the issue
- > This happens even when the engine is warm
- > All check controls are OK and especially I never had any message mentioning a low battery issue
- > Everything else is fully operational ?
Any guess why the engine would not shut off ?

Consider yourself lucky... I hate this feature and always have it turned off.

Definitely strange. If you're concerned about it, have your local dealer check it out.

did u try leaving the car in different driving modes? the auto start/stop should work in eco/comfort/sport and not in sport+ or whenever the gear shifter is in "S" mode

Garage List
Sounds like something is wrong with the mechanism that would warrant a trip to the shop.

Just received a recall notice on my 2015 X5 Diesel. They want to reprogram the software for the steering control module, to correct an Auto Stop/Start problem. In BMW's words, "this would prevent activation of engine start/stop automatic".

Perhaps this is what's causing your issues with Stop/Start.

I assume you haven't turned off the feature by mistake as the button is easy to push as its right next to the start button?

Thank you all for your input. I cannot find any cause here on this list.
Apparently, also, this issue is not frequent among forum members.
Maybe the battery is low on my car with no other advice and maybe I will be faced with the 16EA3 service bulletin...
anyway , I will have to reach my dealer... I have to service in on march. If there is no other issue I will probably wait to do both!
