it gets better each time I look mat it. especially the seats! But at the prices, its encroaching on Cayenne territory. $75 k for a fairly well equipped, but no means loaded, 35i.

I have a small twinge of regret over ordering a Cayenne diesel, but not much.

What's with the limited exterior colors? Not even a blue option?

I built one just like my 2012 and the price was $4K higher! BMW is getting greedy and nickel and diming everyone.

Why not now? They ran out of that paint or something? Very limited choice. At least carbon black is there.

Yep. I am keeping my E70 and refuse to pay what will be a 10k bump for the F15 M.

And remember that neutral colors are selling more than the rest.
Notes on the streets and dealers.
People still buy X5 in Black Sapphire, Alpine White, Carbon Black, Space Gray.
Note that a BMW the first thing I want is to sell ore cars, and for that reason focus on selling.
The rest of the colors here soon.
And not run out of colors, but reserved logistics, investment, and organization when a new color comes into production for a new vehicle, and offer the best.
Imperial Blue is a color pigment Xirallic, which requires more work than a simple metallic color.
In Germany also will be offered until December, not only lives in the USA.

Perhaps those are the more common colors...but was just wondering if they offer more colors on other models why not this?

Of course the are new colors!!!
Let me tell you this the new Sparkling Brow, is a sensational color pigment Xirallic.
Another is Dark Graphite first generation, which was previously unavailable in X5
Also this Mineral White, New, previously unavailable.
The reason is very simple, specific customers, buy a X5 seeking certain details.
The brands seeks to differentiate each selected color model, I have not all the same, but would be meaningless, offering different models.
In the case of a segment X5 is superior as a luxury 5 series, 6 and 7 series.
The proof is that Vermillion Red canceled because is was to differentiate X3 and X6 and another by low demand.
BMW and other German brands is its particularity, provide differentiation, unlike other Asian or American brands brands of cars.

Wow they really explored the color wheel for those paint choices. Black, and darker black.

Question You suggest something better?

I say this because no one is as ever with anything.
Someone would buy X5 Pink, Java Green, Fire Orange.
How many would sell 2 to 5 at most?
It is logical that BMW does not offer that because it is not sold and also is not profitable for the brand?
BMW offers what most people seek, not the minority that's what the Individual Program.
And become strong research on the most recommended for a model.
Suggests, thinking its luxury vehicule?

Anyone know why "Dynamic Handling Package" cannot be selected?

What is the difference between the sdrive (rear wheel drive) and the xdrive (all wheel drive) ? Is basicly for off road use?
I currently have the xdrive, so just wondering, thanks.

The difference between the sdrive (rear wheel drive) and xdrive (all wheel drive) is the sdrive is rear wheel drive and the xdrive is all wheel drive. Did that answer your question?
I wouldn't consider xdrive to be for off road use. All wheel drive on these vehicles is good for road use in snow, ice, slush or other low traction situations. The ground clearance is about enough to help you out on a slightly rutted, snow covered, gravel road, but that would be the extent of anything close to "off roading" that I would attempt in this vehicle. I'm not sure what your definition of off roading is, but my definition tends to result in conditions that I wouldn't want to expose an expensive SAV to.

Thanks, I guess since Im in FL, sdrive would be fine then and I can use the 2k for something else.

Very disappointed in the colors. Typical grey black white. Interior mixed on
Nappa and Dakota. I've had the smooth in Lexus, Corvette, about all gm and
ford. Had better luck with the rougher textured dakota when comes
to scratches. So far glad got my 2013, only improvement for me would
be the lock button on the door now. Built a 35m since looks like takes place
of the sport active and came out too 72,700.

On the colors, it would make me look at Range Rover more. They just
have more combo's. People are dull now when it comes to colors.
How much fun it would have been to buy cars in 50's and 60's even
70's. White might as well buy a work truck.

There is just something about this new design that makes it look mediocre. I really want to like it but I truly think they messed this one up. I can't put my finger on it but the new X5 has lost its appeal and aggressive look. The interior looks great but the exterior styling is lacking big time.
