I just want it to make sure that you already had that option from factory.

If you didn't then is not going to work unless you retrofit all the control modules, radar sensor, steering wheel buttons etc.

I coded the camera-on while driving but it didn't seem to work. So while I'm driving I can press the camera button and the front camera will stay on, is that how it's supposed to work? Right now I can only activate the camera while stationary and once I start driving it still turns off. Anybody else having problems with this code?

*Edit*
Actually, I just noticed that from the guide that Shawn sent me, it says it's supposed to enable the rear-view camera, which seems to be the case. However, in Shawn's guide, there are only 2 codes that we're supposed to modify:

PMA_PDC Module:

Enable Rear-View Camera at all Speeds
300BD_SCHWELLE_2_KMH set to: Werte = FF
300BV_SCHWELLE_2_KMH set to: Werte = FF

But from Opasha's cheat sheet, there are 4 codes listed that needs modification:
PMA2:
V_SCHWELLE_1_KMH werte=23 werte=FF
V_SCHWELLE_2_KMH werte=0F werte=FF
D_SCHWELLE_1_KMH werte=32 werte=FF
D_SCHWELLE_2_KMH werte=0A werte=FF

Anyone know why Opasha's cheat sheet asks us to modify the 1_KMH files as well?

So I modified all 4 files so far and the rear camera does seem to stay on while driving, but not the front cameras.

So the Active Blind Spot can be coded down to 20kmh with no errors. Some errors might pop up while you're coding, but a restart will clear everything and it works fine.

I have two things that are really bothering me with and was hoping someone could help me out --

1. The Welcome lights (angel eyes/tail lights) dont turn on when I hit unlock on the key fob. I checked to make sure the "Welcome Lights" box is checked off in iDrive - lights are also left on automatic so that shouldnt be an issue as well.

2. Whenever I turn the car on, whether its going to work early in the AM (after the car has been asleep overnight) or later on in the afternoon, the welcome "splash" message goes on for about 2 seconds only and then goes straight to the navigation screen. This only started happening after I changed the splash screen to the M video. Var_1 I believe.

Anyone have any idea as to how to get this fixed ?

Thank you all !

This is my top issue with the car right now. I want to open the garage door before starting the engine, so I am forced to turn on ignition, open garage door, start engine.
You don't have to start the engine. You simply have to give power to the car/systems. If you push the start button without pressing the break pedal things will power up and the garage door opener works. I do it daily.......

Exactly, this is what I meant by turning on the ignition. I rather that I did not have to - like it was in all my previous cars.

Weird choice by BMW as I don't see how anyone could possibly drain the battery with the garage door opener, unless you are prepared to sit there and press it in for a full week.

There is an option from the store to buy remote services for £50. This includes unlocked and locking from phone and auxillery heating. Is there a way to code it in using esys?

Also my welcome lights stopped working after I coded my car. The dlr doesnt turn on when unlocking the car like it used to, i can no longer admire the headlights when i head to my car.

I coded a few things after I got the vehicle last month - rear camera zoom, as I have a tow hitch, folding the mirrors with key/CA, windows down with key, legal off, etc.

Now my check engine light turned on and I had to take the car in. They had to fix it by programming the vehicle. All my coding is gone!

Is this normal? Do you guys re-code your car every time the shop needs to program it - which I guess is quite common?

Dealer programming wipes out custom coding, so yes, we all have to recode car after programming.

What a drag, but at least I am glad I choose to learn coding the car myself instead of paying someone to do it - I would need to pay them again.

Thanks to everyone on this forum who helped with that!

Hi Shawn,
Is it still difficult to re-code after the latest software update, or has there been any developments. I have been avoiding service dept in fear of losing all my codings and worrying about not being able to code them back.

Same here. I have been avoiding re-reading all of these posts. Just had MPPK re-installed and all of my coding is gone except for VLD and Office. What a pain.

New I-Levels are not an issue. You can code them as you always have, but must use E-Sys Launcher 2.x to map Trimmed Data back into E-Sys.

PM's sent.
