New 2015 X5 Owner

Last week I picked up this 2015 X5 35i xDrive M-Sport with 81K miles. I'm the third owner and it was very well taken care of. The original owner also upgraded to the 21" 310M M-Sport wheels from the X6. After having it checked by a mechanic, the only thing it needs fixed is the valve cover gasket which is scheduled to get done next week.

I'm not new to BMW's. This will be replacing my N54 e90 335i, and I also have an F10 535i in the garage.

Is there anything in particular with this vehicle that I should keep an eye out for or upgrade immediately? It is 100% bone stock at the moment. The only upgrade I'm thinking of doing at the moment is an aluminum charge pipe and doing some coding with BimmerCode.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Welcome! Very good looking car, very clean. There are plenty of mods available for F15, just get your wallet ready. What specific updates you looking for? Look? Performance? Interior?

My twin. Great looking ride. Looks fantastic on the 21's.

Double slat gloss black grille from Auto Tecknic always a good upgrade. RG Sport Shop has lots of goodies for the F15. Not sure if you want power, interior, exterior ect as mentioned.

The plastic charge pipe will hold fine unless you start pushing past stock boost. BootMod3 or JB4 are popular.

F15 after market is somewhat limited IMO but can be found.

Id ensure all maint is up to date. Ignition coils/pugs, drive axle / train fluids ect. You are entering the N55 waterpump danger zone. Sounds like you have a Indy to take care of it for you so perhaps not a big issue.

Enjoy!

Nice x5 and love the 469 wheels ! Just little helpful advice it looks like your running the Bridgestone performance tires those will not be great in the Northeast winters , finds some cheap wheels with all season or snow tires and keep those mint. Good luck with the car looks great!

Thank you! Appreciate the kind words. NYC parking man, can't do nothing about it. Just hoping for the best. Already got some curb rash on em and it nearly gave me a heart attack. Oh well. I want to paint them gloss black though. And those tires are Pirelli's.

Thanks for all the kind words guys. I ordered the M style kidney grills which arrived last night, so I'll be installing them this evening. I also made some coding changes this weekend via BimmerCode.

This came pretty much fully loaded, so there's not much else I'm probably going to do to it. I might add a Stage 1 tune down the road (after I get a new charge pipe), but that might be about it.

Hey Robert, sometimes I wish to be in the US. Your cars looks in much better condition in Europe especially when you live in cities...
Out of curiosity, how much does cost such a nice car in the US ?

Anyway, have a look on my thread for the changes I did. The interior is something which requires a little upgrade from my POV...

Did you just say "fully loaded"? Welcome to the forum. Now we'll need to see the build sheet.

Well we call it well equipped then. Mods wise, knee pads is one of the best (IMO), 6WB cluster is decent for some, and endless options with splitters carbon fiber mirror caps and alcantara steering wheel, lowering kits and so much more.
