Lane Departure Light on Dash active!
Good afternoon everyone,
I thoroughly searched the forum wishing I'd find a similar post, but I couldn't. It's been two days that my X5 40e (2015) has the lane departure light on in the dash. However, I do not have LDW fitted at all. Has anyone encountered this issue before? Cheers! Last edited by markorak; 12-04-2023 at 09:26 AM.. |

Hmmm, do you have the Intelligent Safety button below your emergency hazard switch (#1 in illustration below):
The 3rd icon down on the left side (in the pic below) will activate/deactivate lane departure warning. If a red check mark appears...then it is activated. If you have all of the systems activated, there should be a green circle around the Intelligent Safety button. If the button has an ORANGE circle around it...then you have one or more features deactivated. 1 - collision 2 - pedestrian 3 - lane departure 4 - blind spot

Thank you very much for the great info!
I've just had the car for a month and since i do not have a lane change assist, a button next to the steering wheel, nor a m-sport steering wheel, I assumed to not have any aid systems. I had the backlights tinted on Saturday and the guy driving it into his garage turned LDW on for some reason, which made me think it was an error since it didn't see it before. For some reason I also assumed that the button you showed me has something to do with a emergency-call. So I didn't touch it. Silly me, but thank you for your quick reply. Should have done my research better. |

…no problem.
As you’ve found out…when the f15 X5 came out…BMW moved the driver assist buttons from individual buttons on a switch panel next to the steering column, and incorporated them into a button on the center dash. From this… To this…

That certainly simplifies it back at the factory
Not so sure what to think of it, but I appreciate your effort, so thank you for your answers! Is there a way to close the thread or is to be left like it is now? |

No need to close it. This type of discussion is what makes forums like this important. I'm sure there's someone else that may run into the same issue and this will be a nugget of knowledge for them to pick up.
