X5M Fuel range and comparison with Cayenne

Nice, after how many KM's is the fuel consumption supposed to have stabilised?

I'd say my consumption came down to 15l/100 after 5000 km.

At 140 km/h , with cruise control I get 13l , really not bad

On a motorway/highway run in comfort I get 25-27 mpg, driving at an avg of 80mph. Round town I get 14-15 mg.

Old thread but I thought I would add my experience comparing my old X5M to my new Cayenne Turbo (current generation). To my surprise, the X5M got between 0.5-1 mpg better than the Cayenne both in the city and highway.

A little OT, but how would you compare the drive between the two?

My current daily beater is a '02 e39m5 w/ 190k miles on the clock that averages around 17mpg. I did look at the F15 x5 35d because of fuel economy, ability to tow, but after being told to look for one optioned with the air suspension and wanting the nappa leather (which was only available in doo doo brown or ivory white prior to...the '17 model year), I looked at what the F85 brought to the table. Air suspension is standard, way better interior, and 0 - 60 in under 4s? Honestly, I don't drive that much (about 10k miles a year) to really be that affected by fuel economy and anything is sure to be better than the 11mpg or so that I average with my 4.4L stroker e92m3 =) My LBB/aragon arrives this week!

They are both powerful and ride impressively flat through curves. My Cayenne Turbo has the air suspension, PDCC, and rear wheel steering. The Cayenne rides much smoother than the X5M. I'd say that the Cayenne drives better but it should since it was significantly more expensive and doesn't have HUD, soft close doors, window shades, etc...
