Heads-up Display
I think I have an issue but want to check it out with you guys before I complain.
I set my heads-up display according to the way I like it and as long as I drive the car, it will be the same. When my wife sets her display to the way she likes it then when I get in, it will be neutral, meaning the display will not be to where I set it at. So when I change it, her setting will be neutral until she changes it. In short, it is not saving the display according to out individual settings. I tried leaving the key out, changing the seat memory to reflect the changes but it seems like nothing works. Is this supposed to be this way or am I doing something wrong? |

same here... every-time we switch key fob, it resets back to the default setting. Each driver has to re-adjust. We even tried the seat memory to hope lock in the setting. that did not work either...

I'll try to see where it is in the menu, I would think it is on all of them. But who knows, maybe it came with one of the options.
It is a setting so the car knows how to adjust seat, HVAC, stereo, HUD, all the preset stuff, driving mode, per key fob. If the Warden was last it, and I open the door with mine, everything resets to the last place I set it. Makes the memory buttons a moot point. I have this in the menu on my X6 M also. |

I tried it again . As long as I use the car, my heads up profile stays, but as soon as my wife gets in, my profile goes away.
Starting my list to give to my SA. |

Just want to share what I have in my Porsche. There is the key memory and then there is the button memory, which confuses. I wonder if it is the same in BMW. I suspect the op and his wife use the same key. Then the car remembers the settings that the key was last used with. You need to press the button to get your settings. If you would use both different keys, the settings might stay as each driver intended them. Both keys have individual setups. I didn't my car yet, so just stated what a different German brand does.

It's in the manual as being able to be stored. Maybe try resetting both profiles?

I spoke with the BMW Genius Team about my heads-up issues and they confirmed that this is not behaving the way it should. I don't know how far up the ladder this will go, but they are getting with my dealer for some possible fix. (reprogram the I-drive was mentioned, or rebooting the system?)

I know this is an old post but to help others, mine was saved using the memory seat buttons. i thought it would be saved once i changed it (heads up display height & brightness) in settings, but you have to save it on your memory seat option as well.

You didn't say what you have or haven't tried...so I'll ask...did you try setting a key profile as well as seat memory (as mentioned in post #16...the one right before your post)?
