F15 winter tire question
hello folks,
I have a set of rarely used Bridgestone winter/snow tires in size 255/35/R20 and I am considering to purchase a set of wheel to mount those on and use them for the winter season. Mine is the M-sport pack so it came with summer tires. My question is, would that set of winter/snow tire I have work on x5? I have had heard several yes, but also several no and now I am very confused. Any suggestions are very much appreciated. Thank you again guys.

I dialed your tires into a wheel&rim calc and I personally wouldn't use them on your new X5 - it will handle and look weird is all I can guess.
I'd sell them on Kijiji and get the best second set of rims you can find in one of OEM sizes and the best matching set of winter tires. Our X5 has Pirelli Scorpions Ice & Snow Runflat tires for winter, rears 315/35/20 and fronts 275/40/20. |

I agree with fooit, not even close to the right sizing for your X5. What load rating are those tires as well? I'm running the same as fooit, Pirelli Scorpion Ice & Snow RFTs...they've been a solid performer for my needs.

Thanks guys. I guess my choice now is to sell those tires and buy another set. Tire shops recommends going with 18 for winter use. They can get me a set tire/wheel for around 1800 Canadian dollar

Check out 1010tires.com, it's where I got my winter rims and tires (18"). The non staggered look is obviously not as aggressive or appealing but it works well especially if you will be venturing out into the snow. It helps to have the rear tire fit into the track made by your front tire, which is why I went for the non-staggered winter setup. good luck! |

18's are probably ideal for best traction and thicker side walls for potholes. Personally, I think they look bad and opted to go with the 491 Winter Wheel package which includes 315s in the rear and 275s in the front. The Pirelli Scorpion Ice and Snow tires and they were great in bad weather as well as on dry pavement.

18 sounds like the better option for me. Thank you guys, really appreciate all your inputs. Now I just need to get rid of that set of 20s I have in the storage. They are taking up way too much space.

Staggered or square setup? Again, personally I would stick to OEM wheels and tires sizes. |
