Floor mat velcro falling apart

The round adhesive parts under the front floor mats are falling apart. I rarely remove the floor mats unless I am cleaning the interior.

Anyone else face the same issue? Would replacement be covered under warranty?

Don't know about the warranty issue, but this is also happening to my wife's X5. When I drove it this weekend, as I exited the X5 the mat shifted to the left and got bunched up between the brake and the gas pedals. I'm a little worried it happens when my wife is driving, she doesn't notice it but it affects her ability to brake when needed. I've talked with her about it, and she'll address the issue when she next takes it in for service.

Happened to me as well. Just switched to the carpet from mud mats and the adhesive already failed

.

I always switch my stock mats out for these ... they are the best!

http://www.cocomats.com/bmwgallery/

my E70 had tan interior with tan carpets, so the Black/Natural was perfect ...
I got the 5pc set and it had a tiny rectangle between the rear seats.

on the new F15, with Terra and black carpets, I was unsure, so I asked them to send me
a handful of samples including their black/terra and I didn't think any combo was a good
enough match, so I went with just black on black herringbone

this time I went for the 3pc set ($70 more than 5pc) and the single rear seat
mat is much better than the 5pc with the tiny middle pc ... I love it!

this happened to me as well at 11,000 miles.

what i did. which worked

when i went in for my second service i mentioned this to my service advisor

" the driver side floor mat velcro is falling apart/bunching up. the mat will no longer stay put, and constantly moves up into the gas and brake pedals. i feel very uncomfortable and it doesnt seem safe."

as soon as safety is a concern. it will be replaced without a word by BMW.

at least this was my experience, picked my car up next day with a brand new NOT REPAIRED mat. so long as the mat was an original option on the car

same thing here, i will need to call them for that. Just a hassle of doing appointments etc.
It's sad they cannot make decent floor mats.

Make an appointment with your SA and he/she should replace them with better ones at no cost. I got sturdier floor mats with BMW engraving tabs on the side and they don't move easily.

these newer style mats are horrific. they wear prematurely and are absolutely awful and as thin as prosciutto. old school bmw mats were much better quality.

they will not be covered under warranty. it is considered a wear and tear item however your local dealer could petition for a one time good will replacement..

Maybe I have a good SA but he replaced them without hesitation upon bringing up the issue. Probably because I emphasized that it was a driving hazard as they bunch up in the front under the pedals. But he replaced the front passenger ones and was willing to replace the rear seats' ones but they're okay so far.

kanvas Ditto! Couldn't have asked for better service. Mentioned it in passing and all sorted when I picked her up.
