Help with coding

I just got an 16 x5 and am looking to have some coding done. I do not have the skill set to do but have not been able to find someone who could do this remotely. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

There is a coding thread right on this page. All you need to know is outlined there, including those who can do a remote coding.

Coding is pretty easy if you just follow the directions. Most everything has been figured out by other hard working folks. I wouldn't ever do remote coding since you're basically giving someone else remote access to your computer. That's a big security no-no for me.

Biggest expense is a cable really.

Not unless you give a remote control to a TRUSTED member of this forum. Besides, you can see and watch what exactly is done.

Remote coding is very easy. Just need a PC laptop with both LAN and Wifi capabilities, coding cable, software, and teamviewer installed.
The rest can be done as long as you are within Wifi range.

Of course, but again for me mainly for the work I do, it's a security no-no. I guess I could always get around by using a clean laptop, so in the end I decided to just install it myself with some help from you guys.

Easiest way is to install VirtualBox or other VM software.
If you trust me, I don't go around opening up other folders.
Even if, you can always disconnect the coder if one is trying to do something else than coding without your permission.

There are different TeamViewer settings, you can can control whether person on the other end can or cannot do anything without you viewing. Person needs to be there on the other end to make sure everything is connected and instruct whether engine or ignition is on. Lastly, you can always temporarily remove sensitive information or password protect it and disconnect immediately if you do not like anything they are doing.
