Good price on 2014 50i?

Considering a clean throughout 2014 50i with M Sport and Executive packages. Black on black, 30k miles, 20" wheels. $50k - good deal? Others in the area are going for a few thousand more with more miles.

That's a great price on what was then an 80K X5. You will love the V8

Yes, used to have a 2011 50i - had serious transmission issues and traded for a '13 diesel - nice car, CPO to 100k, sweet mpg - but the V8 was so much more fun, so here I am!

It looks like there's fewer issues with F15's than there were with E70's, even LCI. One bummer is that I guess I will have to pay to transfer the maintenance plan - any ideas on what the best way to do that would be?

Based on what I picked up my '14 50i M sport for last night, $50k seems like a good price.

The depreciation on these things are crazy. 50k is almost half price of a loaded 50i. Sounds like a good deal.

Maintenance plan transfer fee is $700 thru the dealership. I was able to avoid it, though. Where are you getting car from?

Getting it from a small "wholesale" dealership in Seattle, WA. How did you manage to avoid the fee?

If you can avoid it, great. But will you get $700 worth of maintenance done in the next 20K miles? Something to think about. Call your SA and see what work already been done, then make a calculated decision.

Good point. It looks like it's due for an oil change pretty soon - I think even at an indy shop those run at least $100, don't really know what BMW would charge.

Come to think of it though - chances are this thing wouldn't need new breaks before it hits 50k miles, and that's probably the one expense that would make maintenance worthwhile. The rest in my experience is usually limited to oil, filters and wiper blades - should be less than $700 over 2 years I suppose.

Someone mentioned that for $930 or so it would be possible to extend maintenance to 75k miles - that might be a good option if it's available.

I had no issues getting the maintenance transferred because BMW (this was in January) didn't make it a "rule" yet. So I just took it to the dealer and they treated it as a new car for my account.

For reference...I got a 6 month old/used 2015 X5 50i (MSRP of $86k) for $59k in January. Had 6k miles.

Deals are out there if you're willing to wait.

Reference for you, just bought a month ago 2014 X5 50i w/13k miles full 100k COPO for $56k. I have over 2 years of maintenance remaining as well based on in service date.
M Sport w/20' wheels + Exec + a couple of other minor options

Not sure about the after warranty service, but I got the oil for $6.83/L including tax, case of 12. The car needs 9L so that's $61.47; filter is $18, price seems consistent. So total for me is $79.47, so if an indy charges only $100 that's very good.

As for wipers, those are only $45 for a set of two from the dealer. Costs more on Amazon for similar ones, though I have swapped mine to PIAA silicone wipers.

For MY2014 there are no transfer fees. The new car warranty and maintenance plan go with the vehicle.

I went thru Craigslist, haven't seen a car matching your description.

I called to BMW Assist first to transfer car under my account. After that, Bellevue dealer told me I don't need to pay for maintenance because the car is under my name. Whatever this means.

Considering it's about to be a 3yr old car and monthly payments on this are $1000+....I honestly wouldn't pay anything over $45k for this car. Especially with a refresh set for end of 2017

Then I dont think you would be buying one. none out there anywhere near $45k. maybe a 35i but not a 50i with M Sport and low miles

Indeed. I wish I could have it for less, but just under $50k was the best price available - even when I searched nationwide.

I ended up buying the car and couldn't be happier! I had a '11 50i, then '13 30d - didn't realize how much I missed the power. Love this car - although it's only been a day!

I did drive a '15 35i, but it just wasn't nearly as satisfying. The V8, 20" staggered wheels, M package make all the difference, putting presumably the same car into its own category.
