Help X-line to M-Sport aero conversion
I really really like the M-Sport aero, and was wanting to know more info about possibly doing a conversion.
Right now I have X-line package, and i like the appearance of the m sport but I don't like the M-package suspension (stiffer springs) that comes with M-sport line. So far I know that ECS- tuning sells the front aero hardware kit for about $1300 bucks here, all you need is a front bumper, so that that However I need some help with sorting parts out for the rear bumper in terms of the hardware mounting. I don't think the X-line rear bumper hardware is compatible with the M-sport bumper, and also i have blind spot monitoring so having there may be some other mount that is required for that to fit and work. Any input would be appreciated. |

I think you would be better off buying an m sport and selling yours.

it would be easier and cheaper to buy an m-sport and swap out the suspension.

I am going through the same exercise. Bought the M Sport bumpers from someone who moved to M ones, then I bought most of the kit you provided in the link except the sideskirts -preferred to keep my running boards- and aftermarket wheel arches -a lot less expensive that OEM. Total endeavor around 5K, which included exhaust tips.
i only had PDCs, so nothing too fancy. If you have blind spot, you may need special grills/sensors. There is a document w/instruction from BMW. |

You guys are spending a lot of coin to get these to look like M sports. Problem is, they’re not M sports and it’s never going to be 100% unless you spend a ton. Not to mention, when you go try to trade/sell the X5, you’re not going to be able to sell it to someone who wants an ACTUAL M Sport, and you’re not going to sell it to someone who wants Lux line.
If it were me, I’d go trade in for an actual M sport. My local dealership has like 8 CPO models all under $40,000. |

All these are vanity mods anyway. The Base Vehicle is good enough, no question. Now, trying to sell you base vehicle now, is close to committing financial suicide: you will get mid 20s, if that, with a new model coming up. Don't think you can find a vehicle with an M Package in low mileage for less than 40K. Selling your base vehicle in a fire sale is wrong imo. |

OP, not sure where in Oklahoma you are but here's one in Plano Tx for under 40k well optioned and under 45k miles. If it's within a few hours drive for you, It would seem like the better option than dropping $7k+ to just swap out some of the aero and not get the steering wheel, sport seats etc...In my experience as well, things just never fit as well when you are swapping out body pieces.
https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/invent...ting=201275313 Dealer link: https://www.classicbmw.com/auto/used...o-tx/25555534/ This would seem like a no brainer if you don't mind the drive and if out of state purchase doesn't cause any major headaches.

welp, good luck! You'll be very close that that 10k difference before you know it and still won't have the complete M-Sport appearance.
Also, you keep referring to suspension. There is no suspension difference between the M-Sport and standard suspension, unless you get the M-Adaptive or DHP packages.
