A Bavaria C III Radio? Wow. How did you get them to install this? Some kind of diplomatic option?

Looks like the BMW VIN decoder is a bit confused ;-)

Potential X5 M Sport Order UK

I'm seriously considering ordering an X5 M Sport to replace my 2012 X3 30D M Sport though my dealer is talking delivery in AUGUST!!!
Even if I place my order within the next two weeks , they're telling me that there's no way of getting build scheduled before JULY.

Has anyone else heard similar tales in the UK or is it BS?

I ordered mine in mid January and was quoted ~12 weeks to delivery.
My dealer assures me Production is end march for delivery at the dealer (in wiltshire) Easter weekend.
PM me if you want details of the dealer, and the deal I got for my 3D M Sport.

Ordered my 30d X5 M Sport to replace my 2012 F25 X3.

I love the X3, it drives better than any other SUV that I've ever driven (even the F15 IMHO) though it's just not big enough to meet my business needs.

I test drove an SE demonstrator first though didn't like the way it drove at all. The very light, over-assisted steering with little or no feel was my main criticism. I then tried an M Sport (on 469m 20"s) the steering on which felt better (improved weighting) though there's still very little in the way of real feedback from the road.

There seems very little difference between the X3 & X5 in straight line performance, I guess the new X5's weight reduction helps and there may have been some improvements in the engine department though I'm not sure. Fuel economy compared very well too.

The X5's pro's out-way the single con for me so had no hesitation in ordering the X5 today.

Not sure how long I'll have to wait, mixed messages from the dealer who initially was talking Mid august though this has been changed to June-July.

I've ordered:

BMW X5 5 Door xDrive30d M Sport 14

Mineral White
Terra Dakota Leather

Options:
3ac Towbar - Fully Electric
676 Loudspeaker System-bmw Advanced
430 Folding/Auto Dimming Ext Mirrors
6ar Internet
3ag Reversing Assist Camera
420 Sun Protection Glass
4ff Comfort Seats Rear
552 Adaptive Led Headlights
5ac High-beam Assist
5dl Surround View
2pw 20in Light M Double Spoke Style 469m
Zns Connected drive Services Package
Zxh Cold Weather Package
4cv Interior Trim American Oak High Gloss

My car's on a BMW business lease and I've got approx. 10% discount of list price (as a return customer) so I'm well pleased - the discount's paid for the extra's!

Just got to wait for a build / expected delivery dates now.

X5 xDrive35d M Sport Package

Alpine White
  • 4DD Fineline Pure Wood Trim
  • LCMY Mocha Dakota Leather
  • ZDA Driver Assistance Package
  • ZPP Premium Package
  • 2LS 20" Light alloy Y-Spoke wheels style 451
  • 2VF Adaptive M Suspension + rear axle air suspension
  • 300 Space-saver spare
  • 5AT ACC Stop & Go + Active Driving Assistant
Total Suggested Price including Destination: $69,175.00

Feb 17 -
Negotiated and placed the order with dealer's 112 allocation (CA said vehicle should be at the dealer middle to end of Mar, he seems to be right so far)
Feb 26 -
"Production Begins" updated on website
Mar 1 -
Estimated completion date via 800-number
Crossing my fingers that BMW will extend the Drive Credit until end of March, or possibly have a better incentive available.

No, I must admit I was expecting normal 'performance' run flats rather than AS types. I'll ask the question since my dealer has an M Sport demonstrator with the same wheels fitted.

UK Updates

Is there any way that us poor souls in the UK can get build status updates like the buyers in the USA can via the 800-number?

Is our only option to pester our local sales department?

I got "threatened" with a similar timeline when I enquirer about changing my 30d order for a 40d. However I rang up drivethedeal and the guy promised a mid June delivery. I suggest you give drivethedeal a ring.

Edit: I see you placed your order already so above probably a moot point.
