F15 40i and moving to Canada thread!

Afternoon all,

We are moving to Ottawa at the end of the month (WP pending!)

So I will be selling my F31 340i, and looking at a 2017 X5 40i when we get to Canada.

Are there any members who live in Ottawa, or any Brits over there?

Are you talking about the 40E? 40i doesn't ilexist in canada in 2017. You have the 35, 50 and M.

Welcome, be prepared for the cold , worse access to healthcare than NHS, exorbitantly high taxes (anything over 235k CAD (175k USD) taxed at 53.53%), 13% consumption taxes on top of that.

We spent Dec in Ottawa, and had a tastes of the winter. I'm not sure the health care is worse than the UK at the moment, apparently better access to the Dentist though?

I doubt I'll be hitting that tax bracket blue dragon what is the "Consumption" tax?

Most people don't have to worry about everything he mentioned, don't be afraid of it. 50i is a v8 twin turbo, the 35 is an inline 6 single turbo. The 35 is much more reliable, but shit happens, everyone has their experiences. I've had 8 BMWs, 4 with the N55 and other than regular maintenance, ive had 0 issues.

Its called HST (Harmonized sales tax). 5% federal and 8% provincial on almost anything you purchase
