That makes no sense. Why are you modifying an FA to FDL code?

My bad. Just code it, not FDL way.

Edited my previous message, thanks.

Does this actually work? Allows skipping step 2?

Thank you for all of your work on this.

Some interesting observations on a '17 x5

When FDL coding FLE there is no F015Wert for the following:
H_plus4_Idx (There is an F015Wert_SA552_ECE_RL option)
PANICMODE_Idx
SIDEMRKLGT_Idx

Also I noticed that HBBLINK_Idx had F030Wert as a default

Furthermore when going through the list of the 79 additional functions none of them contain anything regarding F015. They are either F030Wert_SA552_US, F020Wert, or F030Wert.

Perhaps I have done something wrong or they have changed the functions around to prevent this?

Any help is certainly appreciated.

Edit: It appears on the Lmm values that I can still get the respective Werte values on the PDF guide, however, the labels do not contain F015 but instead F020 and F030.

Is it safe to assume that the Werte HEX values still do the same thing?

Hey, I just re-coded this today after my dealer reset everything. I have a '16 X5 (July 2016 build date) with the latest coding psdzdata (59.4).

I am seeing the same exact thing as you are! I just coded everything to the werte values directly. I used the values in the v2 PDF from January 8, 2016. Many of the named values were different than the ones in that PDF, as you are seeing.

I just got back from a test drive and everything is working perfectly. It's so great. I also have this coded in my M3 and had it on the X5 previously, so I know what it looks like when it's working.

Thank you for confirming. I haven't done this in a few years since on my F10. Not even sure it is doing it completely right, however, it looks right to me on the F10. Just removed 5AP and 8S4 on the F10. It looks like a lot of head way has been made on this topic. Not sure if this applies to the F10 as well?

The wertes are the important values. For the F10, it has unique LED's and removing decoding option codes still results in glaring other drivers.

So, are you all clear on this now, or do you still have some issues?

Thank you for work on this topic.

I seem to have an issue on my 16 xDrive40e (Build Date July 2016)

I followed all the steps on the PDF but after a test drive, GFHB/Anti-Dazzle is not working.

After reviewing the coding and trying several times to recode both FLE, the following functions would not "stay" on the F015Wert Value but display "UNKNOWN":
- Stadt_V_Idx with the following Werte 12, 01, 01, 01, 02, 03, 01, 01, 05, 01
- H_plus4_Idx (03, 01, 01, 01, 02, 03, 01, 01, 01, 01)
- Blendfreies_Fernlicht_Idx (0F, 06, 01, 01, 06, 06, 01, 01, 01, 01)

Everything else that was listed on the PDF was changed to F015Werte.

Any help/suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks - Vincent

I am not sure how you got those werte's for Standt_V_Idx. But, the werte values are what is important. If you do not find the expected drop-down menu value or it results in a different than expected werte value, change as needed. Generally, you only change werte values or drop-down menus.

If you PM me your VO coded FLE CAFD (without any FDL changes), I can quickly apply the correct werte values.

I think if you need to have the Driver Assistance Plus package that gives you speed limit info and lane departure warning to have the camera. On the outside the camera says "ConnectedDrive"

The camera looks like this:

What about just the anti dazzle, do you need the camera for that?

You do not need camera for variable light distribution. You do need for Anti-Dazzle or No-Glare High Beams.

coded the headlights again and now all the diodes are illuminated and the anti-dazzle appears to functioning as designed but i wanted to check with others here if this beam pattern looks correct:

Mine does not have the left hump, and part of the headlight is not illuminated. It only lights up with high beams.

Duplicate post on Bimmerfest - hopefully someone encountered a similar issue and can chime in...

Hello,

First off, a big thanks to Almaretto who has helped me narrow down my issue to FLE [44] - Passenger side on a 2016 F015 40e - Built July 2016.

I followed every step of the January 8 guide "How to Enable the GFHB Functionality... on US F15..." - version 2 (appendix 2), yet GFHB is still not working.

Almaretto confirmed that I correctly VO-coded BDC_BODY, KAFAS2 and both FLEs.

The issue seem to be with FLE [44] - Passenger side which doesn't seem to "accept" the FDL coding (whether thru a CAD file that Almaretto helped configure OR manually editing all 70+ parameters). Each time, several functions read back as "Unknown" instead of F015Wert and slightly different werte value. I do not get ANY error messages from E-Sys after coding.

Here is comparison between FLE [43] (which codes without any issues) and FLE [44]:

Schlechtwetter_C1_Idx Left: F010Wert = 00 01 01 01 02 03 01 01 01 01 Right: UNKNOWN = 03 01 01 01 02 03 01 01 01 01
Schlechtwetter_C1_Idx Left: F015Wert = 00 01 01 01 02 03 01 01 01 01 Right: UNKNOWN = 03 01 01 01 02 03 01 01 01 01
Schlechtwetter_C2_Idx Left: F010Wert = 00 01 01 01 02 03 01 01 01 01 Right: UNKNOWN = 03 01 01 01 02 03 01 01 01 01
Schlechtwetter_C2_Idx Left: F015Wert = 00 01 01 01 02 03 01 01 01 01 Right: UNKNOWN = 03 01 01 01 02 03 01 01 01 01
Stadt_V_Idx Left: F015Wert = 04 01 01 01 02 03 01 01 05 01 Right: UNKNOWN = 12 01 01 01 02 03 01 01 05 01
H_8_Autobahn_E3_Idx Left: F015Wert = 03 01 01 01 02 03 01 01 01 01 Right: UNKNOWN = 03 01 01 01 03 03 01 01 01 01
H_6_Autobahn_E2_Idx Left: F015Wert = 03 01 01 01 02 03 01 01 01 01 Right: UNKNOWN = 03 01 01 01 03 03 01 01 01 01
H_5_Autobahn_E1_Idx Left: F015Wert = 03 01 01 01 02 03 01 01 01 01 Right: UNKNOWN = 03 01 01 01 03 03 01 01 01 01
H_4_Autobahn_E_Idx Left: F015Wert = 03 01 01 01 02 03 01 01 01 01 Right: UNKNOWN = 03 01 01 01 03 03 01 01 01 01
H_plus4_Idx Left: F010Wert_SA552_US = 04 01 01 01 02 03 01 01 01 01 Right: UNKNOWN = 03 01 01 01 02 03 01 01 01 01
H_plus4_Idx Left: F015Wert = 04 01 01 01 02 03 01 01 01 01 Right: UNKNOWN = 03 01 01 01 02 03 01 01 01 01
Blendfreies_Fernlicht_Idx Left: F015Wert = 01 06 01 01 06 06 01 01 01 01 Right: UNKNOWN = 0F 06 01 01 06 06 01 01 01 01

Both FLE use the same CAF file, CAFD_000024C3_008_010_000.ncd. They show zero differences when "freshly" VO-coded using the NCD/CAFD comparison tool, yet one accepts the changes (FLE [43] - Driver) without any issues for GFHB but the other (FLE [44] - Passenger) doesn't.

Any help is appreciated!
Thank you.

Anyone solve this problem? I have exactly the same issue. FLE(44) will not accept coding changes. But GFHB seems to be working (either that or I'm blinding everybody but they are too polite to complain).

Alright, I am stumped. Followed all of the instructions in the pdf (latest version). I changed the Werte values no problem but not sure how to change the US VO Value to ECE VO Value. Link to screen grab (couldn't figure out how to attach a picture):

https://www.dropbox.com/s/k82sg8lqfq...GFHB.jpeg?dl=0

To clarify, I believe what I did was simply edit the Werte values directly. Perhaps that was wrong.
