(at least, that's what my research has discovered) So you will likely need to splice the factory wires with the 100KRS.
But....if I don't have a new amplifier...will I notice the difference between 100KRS or IFBMW-S?
Yes you don't need more power to drive 100krs. Mids and tweeter don't use much lower anyways. If you add subs then you need amp but for changing the mid/tweeters I think hk amp will do fine.

Blackhawks... Can you PM me the info on where you had your gear installed and a price on the custom brackets. I'm just south of Green Bay, and local audio shop here is quoting $1800 just for the fronts installed. Gave me some BS about how it will take several hours to design and make a custom bracket for the Focal KRS, so that alone was $400....

Yep. Talked to him today. The shop made a master and he's going to give me a price tomorrow on reproducing it.

I only paid $296 for the bracket fabrication, speaker install and Dynamat install... So that installer you spoke with is crazy or doesn't want the job.

figured as much... For the price quoted, I could do the whole damn thing with dynamat. Where is this shop located? I grew up in Elk Grove.... My family is in the NW suburbs...

It's in Chicago at North Ave and Elston and called Showtime Audio.

is dynamt necessary on f15? i did it in my last two cars (e90 necessary, f10 had some left over) but f10 had a lot of padding inside. f15 seems to be damped well but i guess its cheap enough. do you have a pic of dynamating?

I honestly don't hear a difference... I was hoping it would dampen some of the high speed road noise, but it didn't. I had an unopened box laying around, so I used it.

You can see it in this pic...

Ok... So, here's the deal. They kept a master of the BMW 4" bracket but they don't have a CNC machine to easily recreate them on the fly. Therefore, each one will have to be done by hand. An exact replica of what's sitting in my front doors are available for $100/pair in PVC and $75/pair in wood. Mine was done in PVC and I think it's fantastic. However, I don't have anything to compare it to with the sound production with a wood bracket.
The crossovers would still need to be mounted in the door (and a pic is in this thread showing where they mounted mine)
Let me know if you're interested and I can have him fabricate some... And I can ship them to you.

PS: I would NOT be making any money off of this... Just trying to do something nice as I have easy access to this shop.

Thanks,
Brian

I would need a zip code or equivalent in order to estimate the shipping.

After much googling, I stumbled upon what looks to be the first speakers that are supposed to fit F15/f16 without modification on this site:

http://www.carhifi-store-buende.de/l...spezifisch/bmw

The model appears to be ETON B100W2. Can't find any pictures but see the image from http://www.carhifi-store-buende.de/l...spezifisch/bmw

I am checking to see if these speakers are shipping yet etc.

Never heard of ETOM. Not to say anything negative, but I'll stick with Focal. Excellent find, though.

Just spoke to extremeaudio.de and the sales guy checked with ETON and said the F15/F16 specific B100W2 model will be shipping around December.

I think it just snaps out with a plastic interior panel removal tool. Atleast this was the case with F10/E90 and i would expect f15 to be the same.

Thanks man. I 've placed my order a few days ago with extremeaudio.de for the Focal speakers 100KRS. So, I have 676 Hifi Option and I don't have Logic 7 or any other Harman amplifier. What are my options in order to replace my stock amplifier? I don't want to install any amp in my seats ...only where the stock amp is already installed

Dissapointed

So, I bought a HK tweeter to replace at least the center console tweeter (the one that is just plug & play) and I discovered that I don't even have the standard one

So, wht can I do now? is that "tweeter empty space" all I need to install my HK tweeter? To remove the grill was easy, but now I don't know how to do the rest any help will be really appreciated here friends.

that doesn't look like an HK speaker... Are you sure you have the HK system and not the stock system? I have the HK system and do have the tweeter in the dash...

I think he has the Hifi system and he bought the Hk tweeter. To be honest the Hk tweeter just ok and probably you can find a better one for the price.
