Rear noise pls help

Hi everyone. I am hearing a "thump " sound coming somewhere from the rear. It happens mostly when I go over a bump or on my driveway. It is really irritating. Has a similar sound like unlocking the door. I don't have a single thing in the boot. It seems like the sound is coming from the left hand side of the boot area. Any one experience this or can advise were I can look.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi everyone
I managed to find the rattle. It's coming from the plastic just behind the rear window wiper in the trunk. It seems as if that plastic panel is hitting against the rear glass. Does anyone have a step by step guide on how I should remove this panel. I thought if I could remove it I can maybe insulate it with some foam and re fit.
Regards

I sometimes get a sort of tin can sound sometimes when making turns. Going to take it in for a blown fuse and have them look into the sound too. It's pretty consistent and I don't think we have anything in the car that would make that sound, and it's only when turning, not bumps or anything else.

I would've done it myself. BMW service employees are worthless... Only reason why I take my BMWs are for big issues and regular maintenance.. I wouldn't let them touch any interior parts unless it was major. 😡

I agree. I picked up my car on Wednesday. The three problems that I have found so far were all caused by the dealership during PDI. They are supposed to be checking for problems, but they are causing problems. Really upsetting.

They scratched the door. Sliced the manuals book pleather cover with a razor. And broke the plastic cover that covers the keyhole on the driver door. This is what I am aware of so far...

not sure if similar...but I had the exact same problem with my X3...noise coming from the trunk every time passing a bump or uneven surfaces...
after doing so many back & forth to the dealership trying to find the cause, it was the lock latch...once they replaced it, the noise was gone...
someone had to sit in the trunk while doing a test drive to find the source of the noise...
Although, I remember the sound was coming back right around the time that I was selling it...

This is happening a lot more now and it's annoying. Anyone else having this issue? I'm going to take it to dealership tomorrow.

Yes, obviously the noise wasn't too obvious when the foreman came for a test drive with me. He said everything is normal. Sometimes it is loud and sometimes you can barely hear it.

I went to my dealer and he adjusted the hook of the trunk lock. It is now much better but not perfect. It seems like the trunk lid is not closing tight enough which is causing the lid to move and make noise. Because it is not 100% fixed, I need to come back next week. They will replace the whole lock.

My F15 has a similar noise coming from the rear and my wife has threatened to kill me if I dont get it fixed this weekend. I'm going to sit back there while she drives around and I'll get to the bottom of this. Sounds like it could possibly be a few things.
