HarmanKardon sound EQ setting for 2014?

First of all... I am no sound expert, in my previous cars I had always just set it to auto or +2 on both treble and bass.

Found few posts regards to best EQ setting for it. I know this is very suggestive and depends on the types of music as well. I'm looking for someone who may have few settings they love and maybe I can set it the same (gotta be better than what I have now)
I listen mostly top 40, pop and some hip hop

Thanks.

I fade 2 to the rear and leave bass/treble flat. Then, I take audio to 40-50% and start individually adjusting EQ. If EQ is all positive or looks like V, then it is time to tweak.

Treble: 60%
Bass: 80%
Fade: 50%
Balance: 50%

I also leave logic7 on and it works great for most HD or Satellite radio stations.

Of course, the best way to get the most out of your system is by playing higher quality music

I'll have to give your settings a try as we listen to pretty much the same style of music. This is my current setting. They've been working for my ears thus far.

I'm a DJ Magic Mike/Techmaster PEB Old School bass head and as you can see, I like my BUMP.

I'll give your settings a shot as well. I definitely can appreciate some good thump a well, but didn't want to strain the HK system as I just felt the B&O system wasn't worth the coin

True!

When I was much, much younger my thing was if the rear view mirror wasn't rattling/distorted, there's not enough bass. Not so much now, but I will always have some kick!

If you haven't done it already, look into the BAVSound upgrade for the underseat subs. Major improvement in the tightness of your thump.

I have. From what I gather from watching many of their vids is that I would need their entire Stage 1 install to get the full affect? I'm assuming you have only the subs? How much difference did you notice/feel?

When I did the subs, the stage 1 was not available for the X5. I was impressed enough with the subs to jump on the stage 1 when it came out.

There is a very noticeable difference with the subs. BAVSound subs are much tighter and punchier. The magnets are huge compared to the stock subs.

Stage 1 speakers were not as noticeable of an improvement as the subs, but still noticeable on my opinion. Tweeters are definitely smoother, I found the HK tweeters to be very harsh. Overall sound seems fuller and more detailed with stage 1.

My wife commandeered the X5 I put the full stage 1 in. I liked the upgrade enough that I bought the full stage 1 to put in my new X5, just haven't had time to install it all yet. I would highly recommend dynamat all over the door panels if you do the stage 1. Do a forum search, several posts on the subs and the stage 1.

If you want tight punchy base, those subs will definitely do the trick.

Thanks. I've added the subs to my list of upcoming mods of which there was only one (wheels are first, subs second).

How simple was the install for you? I've watched the BAVSOUNDS install vids and it all looks simple enough, maybe a hour total if taking your time?

Easy install, hardest part is getting the plastic trim pieces off the seat rails without breaking them.

Cool, that's awesome! Glad you like it.

Do yourself a favor and take a pic of your settings. Just in case you lose them for whatever reason, you'll always have your starting point!

Haha. Yeah I get tons of personal messages asking if that is me on youtube lol.
I know when I first placed my order on my X5 I didn't see many amateur vids on the F15, so I figured I would upload one of me taking delivery. I'm pretty sure there are many who've watched it when they were researching or waiting to take delivery of their own and helping them cope with the wait time

I'm enjoying your EQ settings and like it a lot! Thanks again
