Vibration in steering wheel caused by power steering?
So I don't know if I'm getting overly sensitive with my car or not but I noticed something new over the last couple days.
At slow speeds, between 1-25 mph, I can feel a very slight vibration/buzzing/grinding in the steering wheel when giving steering inputs. It's most noticeable when going in a straight line at very slow speed and then slightly moving the steering wheel left and right. It feels like I can feel the power steering doing it's work but at a very slight delay. It's not present at all times, it seems to be sporadic. Has anybody experienced this? I know if I take it to the dealer he'll tell me they can't reproduce or it's normal behavior. |

Not here. I'm curious if you may have some alignment issues with your wheels. How many miles? Any recent bad potholes, etc.?

I'm actually able to reproduce it when the car is parked. I don't think it's alignment. 5000 miles. No potholes. It just happened overnight.

I've felt this is several BMW EPS "electric power steering" cars. You can move the wheel to get it one spot where it buzzes or jerks a little. Take it to dealership and get a new steering rack.

Thanks for confirming. The strangest thing is, the noise and buzzing/jerking is completely gone. I will still mention it to the dealer when the next oil change is due.
