Cargo space - will it fit a TV?
Has anyone picked up a 75" TV in their F85? I prefer not to have it delivered, and the bums at Best buy refuse to go measure the box for me. Specifically, its the Sony XBR75x940E - what are the chances someone here has that TV and can measure the box for me? Will it fit?

Here is a 70" in an E70 X5 35d. I am pretty certain the rear cargo area is the same or very very close between the E70 and F85. The 70" box fits with little room to spare. A 75" TV is only a small amount taller. Looking at the specs it is 37.9" high for the Sony vs 35.7" for the Vizio. You will be able to fit it, might just have to angle the box a bit if it doesn't fit flat. HTH! |

It does help, I think I found the dimensions of the box - 70 1/8 x 42 5/8 x 7 3/4 inch. It's going to be close, I'll measure it tonight.

70" Vizio box in picture is:
65.59”W x 40.47”H x 7.87”D So you need about 1" on each side...it'll fit. |

But I will need nearly 5" in the depth, doesn't look like that's available in that picture.

For what it's worth, you shouldn't lay a TV of that size down on it's back (or front). You should transport it standing upright. I've always borrowed a neighbors minivan so I could move a large TV upright. When we brought a 86 inch home, I actually had to rent a UHaul.

It also depends on the type of screen. My LG OLED had some warnings on the box about not laying it flat. I remember the same back in the day when Plasma was still a thing.

Correct, the weight of the glass is the issue. If you lay it flat it puts stress on the glass and the components it's resting on. Basically a TV that large that lays flat is going to have significantly more clouding issues and inconsistencies. Likely not noticeable to most people, but if you're spending that much on a TV take the time to transport it correctly. If you notice at Costco and Best Buy (sometimes) they are shipped and stored upright on pallets for this reason.
