Unfortunately no option available so far.
The only way is to do a total custom work or change the muffler.

Installed the Hamann. Sounds ridiculous.

However...

My butt dyno noticed a 25-50% decrease in hp and torque! When in sport mode, halfway throttle would pull hard. But now it feels like it's struggling. I put the Sport Display to track hp and torque and it "seems" less than before.

I also have a Dinan Stage 1 Tune.

Not sure what's going on. Any ideas or is it just in my head?

I did not experience this however 50% reduction in HP is quite substantial. Your 500hp vehicle is now a 250hp vehicle?
In the past I've noticed that with Tunes you need approximately 200 miles of varying driving for the tune to adapt. Perhaps this may be the case?
If not I would revisit the installer and investigate any possible exhaust leaks where the installation took place or further up the pipes.

Maybe...but maybe not. I had a similar experience when I put an aftermarket exhaust on my Cayenne Turbo. Expensive sucker as well. Felt like it lost that mass rush of power when it came on boost. Also had a drone that I didnt like as well. I bought it from the dealer and they changed it back for me and refunded my money. Old exhaust back in place and power was back. I think some of it has to do with flow and back pressure and how it all effects the turbos. A lot of engineering goes into motor packages as a whole these days. All I know is I had the same thing happen on another turbo v8 just like ours so there must be something to it.

after reading their response i lost complete interest in this company for a few reasons. first and foremost is their lack of knowledge of the oem exhaust. the oem exhaust on the 50i does not have a valve. secondly they're referring to audi's mmi instead of bmw's idrive and lastly anyone on here can modify and tweak the oem exhaust to achieve the same sound.

Mufflers alone don't usually give you a deep tone sound. Replace the Cat Back, including the catalyst convertor too.

Let me correct you on that.
Muffler sounds are depending on the canister design, material, and packing.
While the primary and secondary pipes usually just make it louder.
While catless downpipe will make it more louder and raspier since no catalytic converter to dampen the sound.
From material wise, the denser the material, the raspier the sound. So same muffler and design in stainless steel will sound different to the one that uses Titanium.

Yes on the smell.
Car don't have secondary cat, just resonators on the mid-pipe.

It's interesting, but on European f15 forum, people do DP to let the turbos spool easier and lower temperature - supposedly it makes engine to be under less heat/stress and prolongs life of various components

Now, I would gladly do it, as it will also add a bit louder sound (the thing I'm after), but I really don't want that smell - too bad we don't have sec.cats

What about DP with free flowing cats - do they still have smell?

If you get the dp with hi-flow cat, it will eliminate most of the smell.

Hi all I have a 2017 x5 50I am search of an exhaust system that I can control via a remote or app. Similar to the FI exhaust. They don’t seem to MAKE ONE FOE THE X5 50i just the x6 50i. Does anyone know if this would work?

I don’t mind going with other exhaust systems I just want to be able to control the sound with a remote or app. O prefer the deep growl and loud crack at the end!

Please help!

Maybe I am just new to all of this...but why not just do a muffler delete to get a loud and crackly exhaust for a fraction of the price?

I was thinking this as well and ended up just doing the muffler delete. My wife actually loves it and it not loud unless you open her up or during a cold start.

If you really want to turn it in/off, go with an electronic exhaust cutout with a remote. You can then have them pipe that back to your exhaust tips as well. This way you have the best of. It's worlds. I was toying with this idea, but glad I didn't because the muffler delete was perfect.

Considering replacing the tips on my 50i through the cutting / soldering route. Happy with the stock sound but the look is pedestrian. The added performance is not as important to me.

Does anyone have the proper inlet / outlet sizing for Akra Quad Tips?

I realize the Akra circular inlet doesn't fit properly with the stock rectangular inlet but would like to get the closest as possible for the mechanic to make miracles happen.

P.S. would like to know if this would throw codes?

As far as I know, many went with the 2.5" inlet and dual 3.5" tips for the quad look.
