Definitely a scam. Received a similar text years ago when selling a car privately.
Google it, you'll see how common this is. Typically the message is just slightly modified to differentiate it from others. In my case the guy was stationed on a US warship in the gulf and unable to call, but wanting to buy for his son who lived in a different state than me. |

Where is the risk in asking them to send payment? Doesn't that only require you to provide them an email address linked to the PayPal address? Although does seem like a scam based on the internet, so all just a waste of time.
