Brake Pad recommendation for race track?
Has anyone used non-stock brake pads for track days with the X5M/X6M?
Any recommendations? The only aftermarket pads I've been able to find are PORTERFIELD BRAKE PADS AP1429 -R4-S. Anyone have experience with those, either on the X6M, or other cars? Thanks in advance.

FWIW, I took my X5M on the track once, and had no issues with the stock brakes.

I use the R4S pads on my daily driver (Merc) and love them. Noticeably better than stock and they don't chew up rotors compared to other high-bite pads (like the EBC Yellows I ran prior).

No, when I had my X5M on the track, the car was less than 6 months old. I know the BMW CCA requires brake fluid to be less than 6 months old for their HPDE.

That's why the BMW CCA requires brake fluid to be fewer than 6 months old.

For racing you need another brake fluid. They have different boiling points. I agree with you that also affects the boiling of a new liquid or old Why test fate, if you can pour high-temperature brake fluid? I have a friend - he crashed the M4 in the race without changing the liquid But this decision of each |
