Horrific Car Crash
Horrible car crash over the weekend in queens. E93 M3 hit a tree at over 100mph with bald tires. Guy luckily survived this serious wreck. Just shows us how well built our BMW's are.

Glad he's ok. Should be an easy call for the insurance adjuster! WOW! Is there a car in this heap somewhere?

Geez...rolling around on balds is one thing, but pushing a century on balds is insane! It's amazing that the driver survived and it's either attributed to Devine intervention, dumb luck, excellent engineering or a combination of all three.

The guy is a complete ass and luckily for him he didn't injure or kill someone else with his recklessness. One can only hope this moron loses his license for a while so he can reflect on his pathetic behavior.

Dayum.
I hope the occupants of that car are doing ok after such a horrific accident. People in the NYC area are notorious for having bad habits when it comes to regular PMCS. Be safe out there.

Glad the person is ok, but it's dumbasses like this that give BMW drivers a bad name.
Speed is not what kills you, it's stupidity and the sudden impact that it leads to. I hit triple digits for brief instances in my M4 nearly every time I take it out, not very hard to do, especially with 75 MPH speed limits and left lane huggers doing 65, eating their breakfast and talking on the phone. I swear I'm going to get a bumper sticker that says "I drive like I do because of the way you do"

The surprising part is how well the passenger compartment stayed intact, especially considering that is a convertible.

Driver is in critical condition with life threatening injuries. Too early to say if he'll even survive. Even with BMW engineering you can't cheat death or laws of physics

It's not High Performance when you're rolling around on tires in those conditions! Not Smart......

Everyone's acting like we've never gone 100mph in our rides.
Doing 100mph+ on the wrong road, with bald tires...now that's just a mess. |

Driver was in his 50s - man, you would think a man should know by that time to not drive 100mph on a curved road on bold tires. Pick any 2: high speed, curvy road or bold tires.... actually maybe I'm wrong and in this case it's more like pick only one....

People like this need to have their licenses suspended ASAP. Not a fan of d-baggery especially on public roads. No matter if it?s clear or not.

My thrill with the X5 is the amazing acceleration it has like when entering a highway and you bring it up to 70 in secs.
Going 100 in or around a city is just plain stupid. I doubt that 100 feels that much different in the X5 than 80! Watch the youtube vid of the review from this guy driving a diesel X5 on the Autobahn cruising along around 135. I wonder what sound an X5 makes when hitting a Deer at 135 mph who was strolling across the Autobahn or whatever types of wild animals are in the area |
