Sirius radio dropouts
I enjoyed the Sirius radio in my 2012 VW Passat, it almost never dropped the signal. On the other hand, on my 2016 X5, the Sirius radio signal drops out so often that it is not listenable. Local radio is terrible so I would like the Sirius to work. Dealer was useless, said computer reported nothing wrong so they couldn't do anything to help.
Are there any settings somewhere that could be changed to reduce the signal dropouts?? |

Some times my X5 drops more than another vehicle. Sometimes it doesn’t. Could be fine to a few days, then drop a lot others. It’s satellite radio. It’s not perfect. My sat phone sometimes sounds great. Usually it doesn’t.

In my '12 Passat the Sirius signal would drop out once or twice per trip. My X5 averages once per song, often several times per song making listening impossible. I have read in other posts about making some sort of change to the look ahead parameters but I haven't been able to find anything about that.

Mine always drops traveling under overpasses, or if I pass a tractor trailer but not every time. I'm thinking if they have sat tracking it interferes. The drops only last a few seconds. Otherwise, I'm good.

In all 5 of my cars (2008, 2013, 2016, 2017, 2017) with Sirius I have noticed the signal dropping for a second or 2 a lot of the past few months, perhaps they are down a satellite or two. I hate paying for it, luckily I have been on $5/month plans forever on all of them, there are 0 good radio stations in my area I dont like to lock up my phone with streaming or nav.

In my Mercedes I have no issues but in the X5, the signal drops very often. It happens in underpasses and in areas where there are lots of trees.
