My advice: do extensive research, then compare. Back a year ago, I had 35k limit, did not care about M Package, or any other package for that matter. Was just looking for a low-mileage good vehicle. if you want to "buy up", i.e. X5M, and willing to take some risk, it's up to you. |

CPOs are not technically a risk so long as they're within the time they're covered, the lack of risk has a high premium....so you pay in advance that something that may never happen, i.e. a major mechanical flaw. Truth be told, I looked for insurance on the open market. But these companies do not cover prior-salvage vehicles. Personally, if I could build an X5M, w/low mileage and a salvage title, for 50k for which I had the budget to do it, I would consider it. I understand that most people would not. Nothing wrong with that. |

Agreed...If the responses in this thread are considered bullying, we're all screwed.

I'm no bullying expert or anything but I fail to see where that discussion was bullying.

Bullying is when you trying to impose a perception that there is some short of defect, physical or mental, on an individual. Of course, those who bully don't realize it |

He went further that my changes are KINDA M package, as if buying non M package is something inferior. It's the arrogance and sense of "superiority" implied that constitutes bullying. When you make changes to your vehicle, it's should reflect what you like, not what the audience likes. Let's end the controversy here because I will become a "Major" if this keeps going! |

It doesn't surprise me that the factory warranty would cover those items, but I am pretty sure the (much more limited) CPO would not cover them.

Most CPO's still fall under the factory warranty at least for several months for the new owner. At least all of the ones I looked at still had remaining factory warranty.
