Sorry for the late replies to everyone. Just got time after a very hectic week. I'm PMing everyone back now, and I will update the OP with all updated information and links. Thank you to shawnsheridan for always helping everyone (GUYS, he is the one to PM for the latest links - I will update that). Almaretto, thank you for the suggestions/tips for updating the OP. I'll get on that tonight .

Does anyone have a link to the software installation instructions. The link on the OP (4. E-Sys Step by Step installation guide) does not work. I've tried the instructions on the thread referenced in #3 Step By Step Coding Guide, but I can't seem to make heads or tails of those instructions.

So I managed to code a few things, but the one code that I really want, to get the car to unlock all doors when the engine is turned off (BDC module item 3040 VAM_UNLOCK_KL15OFF_AFTER_PIA_AUTO_LOCK) is set to "nicht activ" , and does not have the "activ" option on the dropdown.

Googling that issue led me to a thread on another forum,

where the gist of the eventual solution was to update EsysLauncher Premium to 2.5 so that the unchangeable VAM code becomes a changeable CLI code.

What?? I thought the launcher was only a token generator to unlock use of the actual coding program (esys), not something that apparently reinterpreted the coding itself...?

Can someone please spare this noob a link to E-Sys Launcher Premium 2.5.x?

I don't know where you are getting your E-Sys package from, but normally it would include this Note:

"* NOTE: 54.2 PSdZData and higher requires E-Sys Launcher Premium 2.x for FDL Coding. BMW AG made changes to PSdZData beginning with 54.2 PSdZData where they removed (trimmed) all descriptive text from CAFD (and FAFP) files, making FDL Coding of ECU's difficult, as the FDL Codes can no longer be easily located. E-Sys Launcher Premium 2.x uses historical CAFD data from older Untrimmed PSdZData releases to dynamically map the trimmed data back into E-Sys."

i googled, and seems F10/F12 has this coding. not too sure about F15?

F10 does not have coding for Auto-Hold on by Default, and that is not what that coding is for. That coding is to enable the Automatic Driveaway Release of eBrake.

Tried coding a 2014 X5 using both methods for NGHB. Neither worked. More specifically, after coding the KAFAS module (Car has DA+), all of the assistance features malfunctioned. I had to put 8S4 and 5AP back and recode Kafas to get the assist features to work again. This has never caused issues before. Although I'm primarily used to coding my F80 without KAFAS module.

Has anyone experienced this? If so, what was the solution?

Never had this happen. Not sure what you mean by both methods. There is only one way, as outlined here. Your 2014 with TMS & LHM follows Appendix 1 and my 2016 with FLE follows Appendix 2.

I have a bit of an annoying issue, everytime I put my F15 in reverse, the top view camera appears instead of the reverse camera.

Is there a way to make it default to reverse camera instead?

Lol, this is something a lot of people actually would want, but until now, nobody found the right coding for it. One quick check, is your car close to an object when switching to reverse? Because then it might switch to top view automatically.

Hi guys.

I'm planning on coding my X5 for the first time this weekend. I'd like to start with VO coding VLD but I have a couple questions.

1.) By VO coding (instead of FDL coding), am I ensuring that a future dealer software update will not remove the VLD coding?

2.) After I remove the 8S4 code from my FA and VO code BDC_Body, do I then need to FDL code BDC_Body "LUT_FLC_FORWARDLIGHTING_Y" and "C_AFS_ENA" or are those only for those people who don't want to remove the FA code?

I have tried a few and while they do list out the options those options don't match with what the dealer says the car has. Yes, the dealer could be lying or be simply wrong but it's happened a number of times so I'm looking for confirmation.

Yes, that's one of the ones that didn't match.

5UXKR6C56E0J72998 is said to have Active Cruise Control with Stop&Go but I don't see the option listed on the VIN search.

I believe the code is:
S5DFA: ACTIVE CRUISE CONTROL+STOP&GO FUNCTION

I would trust the vin site over the dealer site.

Nevermind I was wrong, looking at the steering wheel on the car it for sure has adaptive cruise control.
