you don't use a cable when using the bimmercode app. it uses a dongle plugged into your OBD and you connect via device wirelessly to it's network (VLINK typically) to communicate with vehicle and code it via the bimmercode app.

I meant by using the E-Sys software.

I looked for VAM_UNLOCK_KL15OFF_AFTER_PIA_AUTO_LOCK in expert mode and didn't find it. I haven't checked for CLI_DEFAULT_UNLOCK_AFTER_END_OF_DRIVING yet.

Well, oh well...before subjecting myself to the esys adventure, I thought I'd try one last-ditch thing: selecting 2 - the European default that means 'unlock the doors if they had auto-locked'. That worked. Yay!!!

an update on things I recently learned regarding the use of this app - disclaimer, I've not contacted the developer to verify my findings

yesterday I had my 535 worked on, and in the course of the work (I knew this was coming), they had to recode my head unit. Knowing I'd need to redo the mods I had in place, I pulled out my trusty OBD adapter.

once connected - no backups. No biggie, took all of 15 minutes to redo what I needed, but here is what I suspect

a. When the Bimmercode app was updated, the backups I did have, became lost. FWIW, I've not yet updated to IOS 11 (work phone, the IT geeks have to prove it all works)
b. Going forward, three lessons learned I will adopt in the future
b1 - When I see that the Bimmercode app has an update, I'm not going to just automatically hit "update"
b2 - When I do update the app, I will immediately do a code so as to have a current backup
b3 - anytime I take either of my cars in, I'll make sure I've got current backups in place

again, no real biggie, 15 minutes while dinner was being cooked so no real harm

Question, I used Bimmercode to change my turn signals soft flash from 3 - 5 flashes but I can't get it to stay even though it codes successfully. Any Ideas?

Secondly, I added my turn signals to the HUD; for example I will make right turn and right blinker flashes in HUD but you can see faint outline of the left blinker... Is there a way to remove this?

Same here, I had it factory coded but I just made it to fold the mirrors after leaving my hand on the handle for about 1 extra second instead of 4-5 seconds before coding, and immediate if I fold them via keyfob

The vGate3 had some compatibility issues and people ended up returning them for the vGate2. If you read reviews, they?ll point to the same thing. I would buy the latter if I were you. I have it and it works flawlessly.

In the US, all we get is Auto Highbeam where it turn off the high beam when it detects traffic ahead.

Some has success coding it using ENET and software... just wonder if anyone done it with bimmercode and can share steps.
