i am old enough to remember that white was typically a rent-a-car color because it was the a zero cost color... generally speaking since the great recession white has been the popular choice. before that silver was king, black and grey typically battled for second place but as of 2014 moving forward autumnal shades and blues have gained popularity.

When I held that sample out of direct sunlight it showed indeed like Dakota grey but when held more in light it showed more like Atlasgrey from Audi ... In normal daylight conditions it's somewhere inbetween
just as I was hoping, to me it seems that Atlas cedar is the color used on this BMW concept car years ago: The sample showed the same variations depending on how much light it captured.. same as how the color changes in that video depending on how the camera captures sunlight / shadows. Mineral Silver is still showing on BMW-UK configurator, and is the colour I was going to go with should I order a X5 in the coming months. Will be really pi$$ed if it has been dropped...as this one doesn't look 'more brown' than mineral.......looks more like a metallic grey...???

See first bullet point under optional equipment here: http://f15.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1275623 I'm not sure the video is a good reflection of the colour. Did you look at this link? http://f15.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...5&postcount=31 |

PS: I have an order for my X5 in Atlas Cedar color. Production is scheduled in September, delivery October (Shipping to Belgium). I confirmed my order after seeing the samples at my BMW dealer, totally convinced of the color Still will be a surprise-effect when picking it up Last edited by renio; 08-11-2016 at 04:07 AM.. |

Atlas Cedar vs Space Grey
Comparing Atlas Cedar with my Space Grey 5-series and a mineral silver X3 (2 last photo's) parked next to it (just perfect because Atlas Cedar replaces the mineral silver color option)
