Just an FYI in regards to the DWA (anti-theft alarm siren system) status LED that is located below the rear view mirror on most BMWs...some models have the LED on top of the dash (ie the e38 7 series).

The chart below explains what the different types of flashes mean...apparently the OP's blown fuse cause rapid flashing as if one of the monitored sensors was open (doors, trunk/tailgate, hood, IMS (interior motion sensor), and Tilt sensor):

The fuse was shot and replacing it was the solution. If the fuse is shot you'll get an error code on INPA.

Thanks, both. I do not have INPA, just using bimmercode. Same issue you had, no chirp. Not soft, just no chirp at all. I’ll check each fuse related to the alarm listed and replace and test. Inexpensive way to find out. The DWA blinks 20x in 10 seconds. Since all doors, trunk, etc are closed, I am deducing either another sensor issue or a fuse issue.

Any other recommendations to check welcome.

Thanks much all. You are a wealth of knowledge.

Closing this out, fuse 103 did the trick. Thank you!

Unhappy No Lock Chirp or Alarm Siren Sound!

I have a 340i and the alarm and lock chirp recently stopped working. It would chirp and sound the alarm when pressing the key fob so I know the functionality and right packages are installed.

I checked the fuses in the front and rear and all fuses associated with sound seemed fine and the metal connectors inside each fuse didn’t look cracked. I will change each sound fuse as a precaution but are there any other suggestions for fixing? Could it also be the actual siren that is faulty or going bad?

Hopefully you still have your fuse diagram. If you open the rear (right side) panel...look at the fuse box behind that panel...check to see if you have the laminated (folded) fuse diagram.

The diagram lists all the fuses & fuse box locations + the fuse nbr's location and its amperage. You should be able to find fuse #103 on the sheet.

The pic below shows the location of the rear fuse panel behind the right rear cargo door...and the laminated fuse index chart is highlighted in the red box. Retrieve this chart and look for F103 (fuse #103) location.

I don't have a pic of the unfolded F15 fuse diagram...but I do have one of my f06 650ixGC's fuse diagram...you can see how it lists all the fuses & their number, amperage, and location. The icons on the diagram are also the same icons used on the buttons & switches etc...and those same icons are also used in the owners manual. So if you have difficulty trying to figure out what the icons represent...just look around the car and/or owners manual for the identical icon.

I'll add that I had this same exact thing - no beep, and 20 flashes. I read the error code using BimmerLink, and it was throwing a DE8C5E - LIN: Sine doesn't answer. I'm going to try this same fix - fuse replacement - and see how it goes. Thank you so much for the troubleshooting and posting a clear solution!

Update: replaced the fuse for $6, and chirp not fixed. Now seeing another error code indicating the siren circuit is defective. 801A50. Will research and update.

If your red blinker on the rear view mirror is blinking 20 times after locking the doors, then you’ve probably got a faulty signal / siren. Check out my thread here. Let us know what you find.
