X35d

Posted about purchasing a high mileage X5 50i the other week, did a test run on the vehicle, and it didn't feel good so the deal didn't fall through.

Saw this 2015 X5d for sale. Never had a diesel before, would to know the pros and cons of owning a diesel engine. Thank you.

Is this one worth it???

There're many pros and cons, and opinions vary. Test drive one, then come back.

P.S. This particular car is bare bones. If buying used, I'd go for as much optioned out as I could find. But again, this is my preference.

Can you just stick to one thread instead of creating one for each car you find? As I said in your 150K miles 50 thread why do you have to get X5 specifically if you are on the tight budget?May be look at something simpler and cheaper like Acura MDX, Honda Pilot, Highlander? Sounds like you are trying to stick to $20-22K but in that price range you will get very basic high mileage X5 and even you maintain it at the indy shop it will still cost you. Diesel is very reliable except all the eco green stuff like DPF, EGR cooler etc. But these are covered by extended warranty, 10 years 100K or 120K miles as far as I remember. This particular one is extremely basic, and I know Lexus of Serramonte they don't negotiate so what you see is what you pay. If you desperately want X5 it is not bad but personally I would pass.

EDIT:
Looking at the CarFax for this car, there is no any kind of maintenance records for this car from first owner except patching and balancing tires, car did not sell through 2 different dealerships and end up at the auction. And only at 58148 miles it got serviced by BMW. This doesn't look good I would try to get information about services and repairs performed from BMW of San Francisco

I just picked up my 15 x5 xdrive 50i in Pleasanton. been looking for the right color right package for 3 months. it looks like your undecided on which x5 you like and also on the lower budget. I suggest a x5 35i more reliable and don't break the bank.
