Racechip or jb4 with mppk

New here so I don’t know what is best. I have a 2016 msport xdrive35i with mppk and mpe. Car needs some more reliable power than it has. I have 93 octane where I live and am probably not going any further than this except a drop in filter. I’m leaning racechip for simplicity. Any advice? Thanks

I have heard jb4 is a more linear power delivery, while racechip seemed to have more power. Take that with a grain of salt as I am still researching myself on the best action.

I have the same exact set-up/year as you, I had the RCU and RC GTS Black piggy-backed.
I run only 93 octane, and love the performance.
I can’t speak to JB4 Performance, but I’m sure it’s good as well.
I like the app control and dummy plug on the RC GTS Black. Very easy to remove when dropping it off at the dealer.

I'm running the same thing over here minus the exhaust. mppk + RC GTS Black and 93 octane.

what horsepower increase could we reasonably expect running MPPK + RC GTS and 93 octane?

The mppk is stated by BMW to add something like 20hp I think I've seen around this forum. That being said I've owned several vehicles that I've toyed with bolt-on mods throughout the years and in my experience 20hp is not even close to the actual horsepower that the mppk adds. The difference is VERY noticeable and in my opinion if it really was only 20hp added you wouldn't feel a very big difference. I'm not sure how much power is truly gained, but my guess would be closer to 40.

The RC claims something closer to 70-80hp gain I think? I'm not really sure how accurate this is, but I would say between the mppk and RC combined you can look to add somewhere in the neighborhood of 100 brake horsepower give or take.

I agree... BMW is notorious for downplaying the HP rating on their cars. BMW claims the MPPK would shave off .5 seconds off the 0-60 acceleration and to do that it needs more than 20 HP gain.

With that said, 35i with MPPK and RCU is super quick.

My RC is working great. I got a .5 second reduction in 0-60 with 91 octane.
