Snap, crackle, pop... from the left coast

Went to the coast for the holiday weekend to take in the annual festivities, which included an old-school/small town parade where candy is thrown to the kids lining the street. Always some cool cars (mostly the same each year, but a couple new ones that I didn't get pics of... namely a Polaris Slingshot).

Saw a white MSport with Washington plates while driving through the city of Seaside. Had the tiny ///M emblem affixed to the rear lid. Anyone here?

Hope you all (in the US) had a fun and safe July 4th!

Requisite shot of my car.

A few cool rides. Would def take either the Austin Healey or the Morgan!

Nothing beats watching fireworks ON the beach. Zero light pollution...

Lastly... I decided to pull over at a weigh station to see just how heavy our cars are. 5250lbs with 2.5 people (at the time) in the car, no luggage, and a half tank of gas. (sorry for the blurry pic; had to zoom in w/ the phone)

Ha! Never knew you could just pop into a weighing station if you weren't a lorry...

Stations along major freeways are bigger and always manned, but for rural ones like this station, they are rarely open. The scale is always on, though, so it's easy to drive through and get a weight in 15secs.
