RG Sport - No Hole License Plate solution

Guys,

Finally I managed to test this on the X5.
I used it on my F06 650GC and 997.1 C4S.
It is held by double sided tape and have an option of screwing it to the bottom of the bumper, which wouldn't be visible.

So here is the picture.

You could probably even use industrial strength velcro...

Just to clarify, the plate is connected to the small black box on the bottom. Not directly to the bumper.
So you can remove it and install it with no effort at anytime.
The base is the one that need to stay in the car with double sided tape that is included already.

Alan l. uses a double sided Velcro ( ones for ez toll pass) so that bracket isn't really necessary. It's not like the front plates are heavy and will fall off. I however prefer the no plates in a front plate state

I'm interested. I'm getting sick of the side mount especially after everyone told me not to drill.

This is a great setup for when you need to run a front plate. I installed mine with 1 screw and the doublesided tape. Works fantastic.

Looks great. I might consider one but haven't been hassled by the rozzers for no-front-plates yet.. keeping my fingers crossed!

I understand the desire to not drill holes. But, I would never just driver around with the bracket if I attached to car.

I do not put front plates on my cars and sometimes not even back. My friend drove around for two years with the dealer plates before putting on his; no issues.

@Almaretto , the second picture is when the plate is removed.
Do you see the base with ring still on the bumper?
The plate frame holder is attached to that.

So would the order of the picture go 2 --> 3 --> 1? You always drive around with just #2 and then put on #3 with #2 when you want to display plate? I see some kind of outline in all three pictures (most prominent in #2). Is there plenty of space to have plate high enough to not block ACC sensor? Is it on your site?

Good advice. I have not gotten a ticket for not putting on plate while parked but it can definitely happen. I have one of the tow hook attachments which also quickly fits in the plastic grill while parked on the street when in states that require front plates.

No Hole Front License Plate

The removable front plate from US Mill Works is a fine alternative. I bought one after a forum recommendation, received the plate assembly a couple of days after I ordered it, and was very pleased to find a quality piece of engineering, well-crafted and adjustable to fit while leaving my park distance radar operating. It removes easily if needed, and is much cheaper than a ticket. Pictured on my X-5 in the attachment.

Almaretto , I create the thread using mobile app, and there is no way for me to put it in correct order.
Here are the explaination.

Picture #1 is when everything is assembled and hooked on.

Picture #2 is when the license plate and the mounting is detached. See the bottom have a silver ring hanging, it is used to pull the locking clip to undo the mounting.

Picture #3 is how the whole product mounted on the car without the license plate.

It should be high enough to not block the ACC sensor, but yet have to be tested.

Yes it is on my website already. The brand is Sto N Sho.

Amanda4461 , I did try that tow hook mount. Not liking it since you have to take off that tow hook cover and you can see a hole when you taking them off.
Also, if you are not adjusting it carefully, it will trigger the parking sensor.
But, don't quote me on that, since I tried it with my 5/6'er. No tow hook mount plate that will clear the parking sensor.
Lastly, it will take you about 2-5 minutes to unscrew them off clearly. While this one is just a pull of the ring and the assembly will slide off.
I have it on my 997.1 C4S too. So when I go to the track, just a pull and it comes off, and I regain my aerodynamic again to go fast.

I have the US Mill Works one right now. It's very well engineered and great quality but the off-set side mount has been bothering me for a while now

And a bunch of you guys stopped me from drilling my bumper with the standard bracket…

Same. I seriously dislike off-centered plates.

I don't understand why anyone would want the off-center look, in my opinion either run NO front plate or put it where it belongs, in the middle.

It's a complete eyesore with the tow hook. Ben's new product looks 100x better and looks stock!
