We are considering ordering a 2017 X5 xDrvie35i

Metallic Paint
Dakota Leather
20" Style 451 wheels
Lighting Package
Comfort Rear Seats
Apple CarPlay
Harmon Kardon
Rear view camera
Space-saver spare

MSRP $66,020 with destination.

So far we are seeing around 9% off MSRP. What is the possibility we could do better?

Based on my own experience a month ago and reviewing the other deals shared, 13% seems to be the magic number. Good luck!

Was that on a in-stock X5 or did you order one?

-5% in the states would be considered a bad deal for you.
Hope that helps.
What dealership did you find this deal? I am in NC and have spoke to two BMW dealerships so far. Both were around 6%. Cannot get them to come off any more for a 2017 X5 xdrive 35i Msport order.

Try the Atlanta area as there are six BMW Centers there. United BMW Roswell, United BMW Gwinnett Place (both owned by Penske), Global Imports (owned by Sonic Automotive), Nalley BMW, BMW of South Atlanta, and BMW of Athens.

If you want contact names for any of the above PM me.

Have you tried BMW of Asheville (owned by Fields Automotive group)?

What dealership gave you this deal? Did this include any incentives?

Hi guys, I post on the F8X forums but I'm looking at a 2017 X5 for my wife and I'm going to the dealership this week to try to work on a deal on a X5 on the lot. Here are the specs:

2017 BMW X5 xDrive35i
Alpine White
Terra Dakota Leather
Cold Weather Package
M Sport Package w/ 20" Wheels
Rear View Camera
MSRP: $65,695

This will be a purchase, not a lease. What % off should I be aiming for? I'm seeing people get 10-13% on here and I want to see how to start my negotiation but not get laughed out of the dealership.

Aim for 12%, but probably expect 9-10.5%. Good Luck!

Edit: note that it will be a difficult to locate a X5 with your specs above given how sparse the options are. The majority of X5s BMW Centers spec for inventory have the premium package as well as the drivers assistance package. You will more than likely have to order to get exactly what you want.

Thanks for the info! The X5 that I mentioned is actually on the lot so I'm hoping that will give me more room to negotiate instead of ordering one.

My experience has been without another one or two local dealers competing for the business its difficult to achieve the higher percentages off of MSRP.

So taking a car off their lot, while clearing a space for new inventory, doesn't afford true competition. So agree with Dtronics that ordering exactly what you want also allows you to shop your business more readily and it eliminates any variables between dealers. Keep in mind their made in Spartanburg and you will have it in roughly a month.

Yes it takes more time and energy to work the system but you will reap the reward. If the lowest payment matters to you its worth it IMO.

Good luck.

Great info. I didn't realize that they were made in SC. I ordered my car through BMW and it was a lengthy process and I didn't feel like going through that again but a month isn't bad at all. I'm okay with doing some legwork to save some money so that's good input. Thank you!

All X vehicles are produced in South Carolina (Plant Spartanburg) with exception of the X1. Jokingly Plant Spartanburg is often called "X World." The plant produces more vehicles than any other BMW factory in the world. 70% of production is exported. To date it is also BMW's largest factory and bringing on the X7 production within the next year.

Thanks for all the great info. I reached out to two local dealers today and I was offered 7% and 8% off a build of*$68,274 MSRP. In addition, there’s a $2000 Market Allowance and I would get a $2000 USAA Member Incentive so total of $4K off the negotiated price. Do you guys think it’s worth it to expand my search and look for a better percentage off MSRP? The dealers are saying that they’re at invoice minus incentives.

I was aware of the $2000 USAA member incentive, but unaware of the $2000 Market Allowance. Do you have further details?

I don't other than an email from a CA. He said "BMW gives each market different programs and incentives. BMW is currently pushing SUV’s in the New England Market so we have additional incentives for SUV’s right now".

I looked on the BMW website and the only "Market Allowance" I saw was 2K for the 2016's. I'm checking with the other dealer to see if they have the same info.

Admittedly I never asked where the sources of the discount were derived as I just focused on the bottom line. If you add the $4k in I imagine you are at a competitive level. So hard to comment whether there is more meat on the bone. I leased mine so using their money factor and other lease terms, I could back in to what the negotiated price was and it produced -13%. I was comfortable that I got a "fair deal" without pushing for a few more buck off th monthly payment.

To my understanding there are no incentives currently on the X5

Not many X5 35d available and unfortunately dealers are noticing this.

Best I have received is $2000 off msrp
I'm in California.

Dealer in the east coast has no problem discounting the car 7 percent.

Road trip?
