Doesn't look like there's anything overly significant. I imagine the same is true for the X5.

This is just a rumor.

No, this is not a rumor, like I have written before, confirmed by bmw sales office. It is available from production 8/9-2014. I just couldnt wait anymore,. I have been speaking directly with bmw about a possible retrofit, but nothing known yet.

I attempted the retrofit. It's not currently possible. If a second generation cluster comes out it will likely work but right now they're not designed to talk to the BDC ECU. The F15/F16 are the only vehicles currently using this. The X4 might but likely will share the same electronics platform as the F25 LCI since it's just a mid cycle facelift. Even if it did I would probably stick with the current version. The LCD cluster is lacking a lot of functionality we currently have in the HUD, etc.

My info came directly from bmw sales office of a Nordic country, wont be more specific, and I was given the option to wait and lose money or stick with my order. As I have been waiting sice 12/2013, I couldnt wait 5 months more... I dont understand why are you fighting me on this without any facts... The same thing happened when I said the tire pressure monitors will be SE from 4/2014 and I got many answers that that is not possible even when my own car was on hold due to this. This forum is for sharing. I shared my info, you dont need to believe it. And yes, I know many people too. |

When the order guide is released we will know for certain. Until that point it's rumor - not fact. Your BMW sales person could tell you that the car can fly to make a sale. As is frequently proven here, the sales teams are often ill-informed. It makes sense that they offer it. And they probably will. I know I've seen one prototype with it. But I've seen many others with the normal extended panel. Until it shows up as an option code I'm not counting on it. BMW has always made last minute changes for whatever reason, like losing traffic jam assistant in the US or the LCD cluster on the US F10 LCI.

And keep in mind, too, that for the first model year after the initial release BMW never changed much in the past.
The most visible change will be that Individual options will be possible. |

You might be right, the truth is There is Still no part number. With sales office I meant bmw Factory, not My salesman.
..off topic... I Would Still appreciate if You Could post more pics of Your diffusor without the Wings, as I am considering it. Do You Think it Could Work without the Wings as a standalone part? Or does it Look detached? Thanks. |

Search Google for BMW 6WB. I've helped a few people with retrofits.
Once you experience it, past the initial wow factor, it actually disappoints. Things like the lane departure icon are just on/off, it doesn't show you the side detected. You also lose HUD information like media and phone plus other things like turn signals. It just doesn't support it. Most I helped went from the standard cluster to the full LCD. But if you have the extended cluster (LCD lower third) you get more functionality.

How many other SUVs in this segment offer a full LCD instrument cluster as an option?
I know JLR do offer it as a rather pricey option on the full size RR and RRS. Not sure about Audi or Mercedes. Perhaps that's the reason this feature hasn't arrived quite yet. Market conditions don't require it <yet>. |

Yes you were right . I remembered you also. Still with BMW until it is official (like now) it is not official . This forum still is the best thing for seeking info.

It should be a normal factory option worldwide, when I posted they said to me week 35 ->, so end of August. Sadly it wont help me as my car is in production as we speak. They spoke about a possible retrofit kit, but no news on that sadly...

Picked this up from my dealer last weekend. Very few changes for 2015.
Start of production is August as expected. |
