Speed Limit Info - Retrofit

Hi,

looking at retrofitting the SLI info on an X5 - I've the latest version of maps but cant get any info out of BMW to find out if it has SLI information .. but presume it must have ??

Been lloking at the retrofit emulators but don't want to buy one if I'm wasting my time .. I have a coder btw

Any help or guidance much appreciated ..

It is definitely possible but you need to buy the emulator.. I have a new one for sale if you want, Let me know!

I've fitted the emulator - all good
But I don't seem to have the options available to me on the coding app?

I'm using the BimmerCode app but it doesn't seem to have any options to code the speed limit either in HU_NBT or in Kombi

Any help appreciated

You need ENET cable and E-sys to code it.

Can't get it on mac, you need a VM to run it on Apple computer. Please use search.

It's been a while but came across this post and wanted to share come coding tips. I got an emulator and the coding that accompanied it is quite good and extensive (courtesy of Bimmer8.com). The easiest is to FA code to your car but if you need to FLD code it, here are some thing to look for (not all are needed in every car model).

F-Series - KOMBI Ecu

ANZEIGE_NPI = aktiv
KI_PIA_SPEED_LIMIT = aktiv
SPEED_LIMIT = aktiv
SPEED_LIMIT_GENERATION = sli_gen_2_npi
RCOG_TRSG_APPL = aktiv
RCOG_TRSG_TIMEOUT = aktiv

G-Series KOMBI Ecu

ADDITIONAL_SIGN_ENABLE = aktiv
ANZEIGE_NPI = aktiv
CB_TACHOZEIGERBAND = aktiv
CB_SLI_NPI = aktiv
PIA_SLI_NPI = aktiv
RCOG_TRSG_APPL = aktiv (* See Notice below)
RCOG_TRSG_TIMEOUT = aktiv (* See Notice below)
SLI_PERMANENT_ENABLE = aktiv
SPEED_LIMIT_ENABLE = aktiv
TACHOZEIGERBAND_ENABLE = aktiv
NO_PASSING_ENABLE = aktiv
SPEED_LIMIT_UNIT_ENABLE = Wert_02( If you don't want to display speed unit kmh or mph, please set Wert_0 )

F / G Series - KOMBI Ecu
If your vehicle has a HUD (Head-Up Display) do these. Just ignore if you don't have a HUD.

HUD_NPI_ENABLE = aktiv
HUD_PIA_SPEED_LIM = aktiv
HUD_SPEED_LIMIT_ENABLE = aktiv
HUD_SLI_ENABLE = aktiv
PIA_HUD_SLI = aktiv
PIA_HUD_SLI_NPI = aktiv
PIA_HUD_SLI_PORTIERUNG = aktiv
PIA_HUD_VSLI = aktiv

Coding to be modified for HU_NBT or HU_NBT2 ECUs

SPEEDLIMIT_INFO = aktiv
SLI_NAVI_DISPLAY = nicht_aktiv

Check "Speed Limit Information" in the Instrument cluster settings for the HUD - check box as needed.
