That is correct. Carbon fiber cannot have heat option enabled. Also, if you swap steering wheels, you have to make sure you get one with heating option if you want to keep your heating option. For example, going from a heated Sport wheel to heated M-Sport wheel.

OK, forget what I said, I just searched and it was for older model BMW's BMW (627,615): 2000–2005 3-series sedan and wagon; 2000–2006 3-series coupe and convertible; 2001–2006 M3 coupe and convertible

Also, please direct your steering comments/questions to the wrap thread so things stay more organized. Let's keep this thread for the 6WB . Thanks!

Saw 6wb on a F16 today. I can confirm that it looks sharper/better than on an F10. I want to do this mod now, with (again) a priority over performance package which is lame but i simply want it more, it looks fantastic. Have extended cluster which is nice (especially when it is using the white background during the day) but this thing 6wb will refresh the car and looks sooo cool imo. Not a super improvement over the F10 but a significant one (placebo effect maybe to some extent). Since i have a european vehicle if i do the normal service at the dealer (e.g. Oil change, brake change). I will not have to take out the 6WB cluster, correct? Cheers!!!

Nope, it's not the same cluster. They are different parts. F15/F16 one is a little bit sharper for sure.

I am moving to the Netherlands soon, will drive the car there sometime in Feb or March 2015. As i am now in Austria, should I make a round trip to Poland and have it installed @bimmertech or can i do it myself. I know i can but ive never done any coding myslef and am afraid to do it. This mod is a must, can stop thinking about it. Cheers |

I am driving the 2014 X5 M50D F15. If 6WB is available in Australia, is that mean when I get my panel it is just a simple swap with the multifunction panel rather then coding as well. Thanks! |

You will have to take it out. I had this almost done, but Bmw said that it will recognize this as false equipment and thus it will have to be removed every time, even though it is available for the 2015 model.
Has this info changed, or has anyone found out the opposite... and tested it? |

If it's a retrofit, you will still have to code it properly for the first time. Once the coding is done, then it is easy swaps between your 6WB and 6WA Extended or Basic cluster. That swap does not require further coding at all since all of the information is now in your car. However, if the 6WB is in the ISTA/P system, then you will not have to swap it. I would do this. Take your car with your 6WB. Make sure you have your 6WA with you, if it can't be read, then swap it out. That will tell you whether it's doable or not. Also post back so people know that if their dealer/country has 6WB option and they retrofit 6WB, they can keep it in permanently or not. Thanks.

Try FDL Coding HU_NBT => KOMBI_AUFLOESUNG = aktiv.
