This thing is a monster and I dream the day of being able to own one. I think it looks amazing, its loud, in your face and has a presence. Cant wait to see what the tuners do to bring it closer to the ground and put 305s up front and 345s out back. black out that license plate bar and the front is done for me!

Unladen DIN weight is 2305kg for the old X6M According to the press releases, I know weights can be given to different standards, but the new X6 should be lighter than the old one. edit: You might be mixing your horsepowers too. According to the press releases if you say the old one is 555hp, then the new one is 575hp (408kW vs. 423kW) Last edited by Matski; 10-31-2014 at 08:30 AM.. |

I took my M5 CP around the 'ring 3 times. While it was exhilirating, I found very little from that experience translated to my day to day driving for the next 8000 miles, no matter how spirited.
On the otherhand, there were many opportunities where all-wheel drive and 567 HP could have been used. I find the X5M an intruiging proposition until the GXX M5 comes out with AWD. My perfect car would be an AWD M5 wagon, but that just doesnt exist... the M5 sedan is awesome in its current configuration, but the X5M is a close second I think.... decisions, decisions on the next car.

Does it really matter how fast this thing does the Nurburgring? Anybody interested in tracking a BMW is not buying any SUV or crossover or whatever this is.

The dynamic capabilities of the car are shown somehow with the 'ring time. For sure the M4 (better in GTS form) is the M car for the track. I'm curious how close to Cayenne will be, performance wise ☺

This is most impressive. I feel like the COG of the X6M is lower than we think? That and the Nurburgring is definitely an HP track. I mean it does have a lot of long straights.
But I think we're also missing something here. Lets say you're in an M3 and some other guy is in an X6M, there's no way the X6M will match you in a turn. Weighing less and it having a lower COG, it just cannot be possible the X6M will out brake or hold more Gs in that turn! So I don't think there is anything to be afraid of here people What I really want to see is a video comparison on the Nurburgring of the X6M vs the E9x M3; now that would be entertaining! |

When Sport Auto does their Supertest, they provide a lap chart with sector times on the 5 sectors as well as 18 different points on the track where speed, g-force and acceleration is given. That should be a good base to compare the two cars relative performance on different parts of the track. |
