"No Signal" on HUD

Has anyone ever experienced this before - the other day I was driving and twice during the 20 minute journey, my HUD showed "No Signal" twice, then went off? A few moment later each time, it restarted with the BMW ConnectedDrive logo and then went back to normal.

I was thinking of booking the car in for BMW to look at it under warranty as it's only a few months old but it hasn't done it since. I'm now considering waiting until my next normal service and mentioning it then, but that's still 11,000 kms away.

Hmmm, definitely an odd one for sure. I would definitely have it checked out under warranty. I had an issue with my cluster that was similar, and would often solve itself. I'd lose the lower portion of the cluster, then following a sleep cycle it would re-appear.

I have had this happen once or twice. Not sure what caused it. Hasn't happened again. It seems that quite a few have had this happen along with idrive either restarting or posting an error. Once you turn the car off and let sit overnight most errors seem to resolve themselves.

As always, it's under warranty so if you are worried, take it in.

If you look in the sticky "Issues" thread you'll see plenty of us have experienced this. I would say it's simply the "computer crashed" and self resets. It happens so infrequent with no ill effect I haven't bothered to bring it in. My advise don't worry about it unless it's happening a lot.

Funny how you mentioned it. I got same 'signal' on HUD today for first time. Lasted about 1 minute.
