With the release of the upcoming M550i then we can expect it to happen to the other future models. The M badge increases sales I'm guessing.

Just trying to save you from ridicule mate. What about de-badging altogether? Perhaps a fun weekend project!

Well you could keep the X5 only from the X5M batch but i guess to you, the M badge is needed. Have you ever heard someone change their M4 to a 435i because the M4 badge sucked? lol don't think so. It's your own car you decide it however don't blame others for not liking it or laughing at it. .

What do you expect when you post something in a PUBLIC forum? If don't want to hear what you don't like. Don't post it! It's not like people coming to your house to criticize your taste. People do have the right to express their opinions. I think people are already very polite in their comments. Lol

I see it a lot in the Netherlands, also adding M50d badge on 25d or 30d cars. To be honest i wanted to add the mirrors myself on my new ride and the dealer told me that they can do it but they're of the opinion it would be over the top. I love the look of those mirrors but they do fit X5M best because the front of the car is designed differently.

Yes! I had that expierence! The M50d badge didn't match the round exhaust tips. Then when the traffic lights turned green, it all became very clear. At the next lights the guy looked a bit ashamed. I could only laugh.

Please get rid of the M badge. It is sad to see people like you that always become the the laughingstock of BMW drivers. Be real because that's what matters.

This goes back to my Porsche de-badge thread.

I think the same can be said for people who de-badge, I know a lot of people who do it for the look(no issues), but over the years at least in toronto, it's always particular lower trim cars that have their badge removed. Mainly 328i, Cayenne V6, C300 etc. I have never seen a M4/M3 with their badges removed, or. C63 with badge removed, and the Cayenne GTS and up also have their badges on. Like I said this doesn't apply to everyone but I'm stating what I've seen in my 10 years of driving. Hope I didn't offend anyone lol, apologize if I do.

I think people who debadge for the sake of trying to hide their trim model are worst then putting the M logo.

Ya I would take that M off.

Disagree. Less is more. Remember, you can order BMWs without badges from the factory. So no badges is OEM.

When you're debadging you are not actually trying to be other car. Over badging is.

Let's get back to the point here. The reason why this thread has 2 pages is not because this OP is de-badging. He is putting the wrong badge on the wrong vehicle.

I'm not a fan of the mirrors, but if you like them, that's all that matters.

What you do with your badges is not my business, just realize that people who do care can tell it's fake whereas people who can't tell the difference, don't care either.
