Newbie Introduction
Hi Guys - just traded in my MY'11 335is Cab for a MY'14 X5 X50i M Sport. Once I drove the twin-turbo V8, I was sold!
The only disappointment I had when testing the vehicle was the fact that it didn't have Bluetooth streaming audio capability. Upon browsing through the forums, I see that it may be possible to code the system to allow for the Bluetooth streaming to be "activated" with the Enhanced Bluetooth feature. Correct me if I'm wrong. How can I check to see if my vehicle has the ability to be recoded with the Enhanced Bluetooth? Also, is there a recommended spot in GTA (Toronto) I can take it to have it done? I'm sure this has already been answered, but the searches I did came up negative and the coding thread is overwhelming. Thanks in advance for your help.

I don't have the Enhanced Bluetooth on my 2014 MY, and I can stream BT audio (usually Spotify) without problem.

this is what I'm looking to do. Do you have specific hardware for the Bluetooth streaming or is there a solution through coding?

I drove it off the lot and it worked fine once paired to the vehicle. No involvement from my end on additional hardware or coding to make it work. BT streaming is done through the External Devices option under your Media input on iDrive.

My vehicle doesn't have that option.

When you paired your phone, did you tick the audio box? When you pair the phone, you should get three options that come up: Telephone 1, Telephone 2, and Audio. Make sure you tick the Audio box.

I haven't picked up the X5 yet, and when I test drove it, I didn't think to pair the phone. I guess I'll have to wait and see.

So when I paired my phone I only got "Telephone 1" as an option. Does that mean I don't have the right combox?
