2017 x6 Navigation: Zooms Out

I set the level of detail I want then in 15 seconds it zooms out.
To me, the map being zoomed out is not useful as no level of detail.
Dealer say it is normal and one is suppose to listen to Nav instructions to avoid distractions. With that logic, might as well get rid of Maps and all other display items on the Control Display.

Perfect!

My other bmw's didn't zoom out, hence it was in for service so I asked the SA. He said that the shop foreman and 2 delivery specialists says that is normal. I guess if they don't know the answer they simply say its normal. Silly me, should have checked the manual.

With idrive 5.0, touch screen allows the map/nav to zoom in/out and scroll, that is very nice.

Yes. I noticed that when I had a 2017 X5 35i loaner. Navigation system on iDrive 5.0 has more features and auto zoom was one of them. Seems even faster than previous iDrive in 2014-2016 X5.
